Merchant has gone stark raving mad!
« on: June 22, 2009, 03:22:19 pm »

I just had an entire elven caravan go berserk when they were leaving (luckily they've only killed a kitten or two ;D), what exactly happened, do my dwarfs have an anti elve aura.

Merchants will go crazy if they are stuck on your map longer than they should be.  Locking them in a secure room and watching them slaughter each other is quite fun.

With [SLOW_LEARNER], dwarves probably don't sit around and talk anymore. They just stand in the same corner altogether, staring at each other, sticking their bearded lips out trying to make sounds. And giggling when someone actually says a whole word.

They weren't on long at all. That's why I'm confused.

Well I ... don't know much about this but..

A diplomat showed up missing a few toes once. Another time a goblin led a siege with only one arm and collapsed due to pain.

They might have been through some tough times before showing up at your doorstep. Make a copy of the game folder, load the fort and abandon it (after writing down the victim's names. should still be in the unit list) so you can go into legends and see if there's anything wrong.

This here is a regular mystery! Let's investigate!

For some reason the guards never go crazy or anything.

I accidentally caught a human axeman while I was digging out my dry moat, he's been there for a year now, doesn't look agitated or anything
