[OS X 40d11] Soldier-king is friendly
« on: June 19, 2009, 09:47:00 pm »

The Attic of Pearls' king just arrived, and he's a speardwarf. He shows up as 'Friendly' in the units list, he's not in the nobles screen, and I can't assign him a room. He's just standing at the edge of the map; if I shoo him away somehow, will the rest of his followers (queen, guards?) come on, or would he even have them? Would he still be a speardwarf if I savescum?

Update: his royal guards showed up, along with an advisor (who functions normally). No queen appeared, but I have no way to check if he's married.

Searching the Bug Reports forum for "friendly king" came up with this thread, which had this quote from Toady:

It seems like the civ ids aren't matching up, as far as the friendly text appearing.  This quick-lookup id is becoming more and more stale, and I guess it's just hit some growing pains vs. the new world gen stuff.

Must have missed that one when I was searching...
Regardless, I'll see if he moves inside eventually, or whether he'll be bait for the next siege (his attributes are almost maxed out, but he has no armour... and he's right at the edge of the map.). I wonder if wounding him would attract health care. Also, if he's friendly, I guess he's never going to eat, drink, or sleep, right?
