Think about what you are doing in the dream.  For example, if you are at school and it is clear that you have a vacation, then why are you there!  It is sort of hard to think clear when you're dreaming though.  You could be counting the hairs on a giant's ass and not realize it.

Not for me.  I wish I could control them though!

People are drunk when they dream.

Why do you think they don't rememeber much when they wake?

Why do you think you do the weirdest junk when you're dreaming?

I believe you sober up when you go lucid.  You seem to remember more and control yourself to do less stupid things.

It felt a bit like a movie in which two stoners try to steal a military helicopter

I haven't had any success with it either. I always get to the imagery but something always happens like my eyes tearing up or some stupid thing like that distracting me.

I have never done this lucid dreaming, nor had one afaik.

Though very handy for nightmares, dreams are mostly for processing the day's information income, this is why sleeping is so importaint, won't lucid dreaming destroy this part of dreaming?

What worked for you guys? I want to try it =D

EDIT: Oh damn, I hate that falling feeling in bed...

As the video earlier in the thread stated, just tell your brain to lucid dream.
It works for me

dreaming while awake is weird, middle of the night and i can feel myself with my eyes closed and every time i open my eyes the dream goes and then i close my eyes and it resumes.
its not like i was falling asleep really fast because i was physically keeping my eyes closed.

Does anyone else think up songs in their dreams that are totally rad, with facemelting solos and deep, powerful lyrics, but you always forget them when you wake up?

Nope, my dreams are always silent music wise.

I once dreamt the most incredible riff ever, and remembered it when I woke up, but when I headed for my keyboard to transcribe it I began thinking of Enter Sandman and completely forgot the riff.
Seriously, it was a beautiful riff.
