I leave immediately for a decent clothing store. Once there, I buy a backpack (most important) and then the following items:

5 leather belts that fit
2 pairs of fitting jeans of different colours
5 different coloured casual t-shirts that everyone else is wearing
2 pairs of boots
5 pairs of padded socks
5 different coloured casual baseball hats that everyone else is wearing
A casual looking jacket that doesn't stand out
2 pairs of normal sunglasses

I then head into the toilets, and change my old clothing for a pair of boots, one of the sets of jeans, new socks, one of the t-shirts and one of the caps and put one of the sunglasses on as well as a belt. Everything else goes into the backpack and I give my old clothes to a hobo for his jacket if he has one.

In any case, hail a taxi, go to the nearest department store/mall, buy a large briefcase(<$200), 2 sets of nice casual clothes (think Polos with slacks, <$100), and 1 suit(<$700).  Then hit up a computer store, and buy a cheap, light laptop with webcam(<$1000).

Fenneth rolls a 6 for his shopping!

You hail a taxi, making your way to the nearest mall. You quickly find a large briefcase that is on sale(-50$). Taking your new briefcase, you go into a nice-looking clothing store that isn't too expensive. You buy two sets of casual clothes on sale(-50$), the cheerful attendant directing you towards your next purchase, a nice-looking suit that is also on sale(-250$) Wandering out of the next department store, you follow the directions on a wall-mounted map to a store called Chips and Bits, and strike up a conversation with the owner. After a brief conversation, he seems to have taken a liking to you, and lets you access last years wares, most as good as this years but at severely reduced prices. You buy a nice laptop with a built in webcam for cheap(-300$), and as you stroll out the clerk says, "Best of luck. I'll be watching! I'm not even gonna call you in, okay? You seem alright, despite what Bobby said."

As you move throughout the mall, you're just another shopper. You crunch your morning pill to wave off craziness, and you feel energetic!

Melvin begins making his way towards the mall, walking through the winding streets. Unfortunately, he gets terribly lost on his way to the mall, and has no idea where he is after he blunders around for a while.

 You realize your in the slums, the buildings decayed and graffiti-stained. At least you're away from the Games Building and the kind of people who would turn you in. You wander the streets, watching rats the size of small cats skitter from one dark alleyway to another. Occasionally, a junkie staggers across your path, mumbling about Push. As you walk along, a lady walks out of a wretched looking apartment. She looks nice, but down on her luck, and she wheezes heavily as she walks. As soon as her fit ends, she gestures for you to enter into the building, so you shrug and follow her. You walk through hallways lined with litter and garbage, the walls decaying slowly as rain and humidity beat an endless war against them. She takes you into her apartment, says something you don't quite understand, and gives you a bowl of soup while she rummages around in a closet. You finish the bowl of soup as she comes out carrying an armful of dirty-looking clothes. She walks right by you and out of the apartment, so you turn on her FreeVee. You're dismayed to see that your name as well as Zak's and Fenneth's name scroll along the bottom constantly, as well as the occasional picture of you three. You sigh and watch Run the Crocodiles for a while, grimacing as you see Albert plunge into the pool, frantically swimming away from a twelve-foot crocodile before being chomped in half, intestines trailing out in a slurry of blood and shit. You turn away and turn off the FreeVee as the lady walks back in, the pile of clothes looking significantly cleaner. She dumps the pile on the table, and you begin to sort through the clothes as she goes to the closet to rummage some more. After you sort for a bit, the lady comes back out with an array of objects, dumping them on the table.

After sorting, you find(you roll a 4):

A few pictures are of a younger man with the couple, the happy family beaming. You quickly change in the casual clothes and walk back out, gathering your supplies in your backpack and putting on the hat and the sunglasses. As you leave, you thank the old lady for the meal and the clothes. She smiles and says clearly, "You look like my grandson. God bless." You leave the apartment building and stand on the street.

You roll a 4 on disguise, the outfit obscuring you for +1 to nudge you up to 5. It doesn't look like anyone around here is in much favor of calling the cops, anyways.

As you walk toward a clothing store in a decent part of town, you decide to jaywalk. It really was bad move, since a car filled with rowdy teenagers skids around the corner, screaming down the street, their visions blurred with flickering colors and cheerful hallucinations.

Zak rolls a 3 for his Saving Throw!

The car screams towards you, and you leap out of the way. Unfortunately, you don't leap far enough and get smashed into the hood.. flying over the windshield and over the car. You feel weightless for a moment, looking at the pavement, and then you start to fall.

Zak rolls a 4 for injury!

You slam into the ground, the impact leaving you breathless. Your face hits the ground painfully, but after the immediate burst of pain and blood gushing from your nose, you don't think anything is broken. You shakily stand up, feeling battered and bruised, but alive.

Zak rolls a 5 for Luck!

The car filled with teenagers stops, and various mutters of, "Holy shit, we hit fucking Zak! He's that guy on the FreeVee!" can be heard. The teenagers momentarily abandon their souped-up car, glancing at the small crowd forming nervously. They look over you, and you wobble. Two of the teenager support you, and the one who appears to be the leader say, "Ah, shit. Sorry man. You were like, totally in the middle, and we were totally going too fast."

He takes a roll of crinkled bills out of his jeans, and another one of the teens run back to the car as he yells, "Richie! Give the man your backpack! Take out the school shit, but leave in everything of value!"

Richie stares at him sullenly. The leader says, "Don't give me that shit." the leader giggles for a moment, seeing shit ooze out of Richie, "I'm giving him cash."

The leader hands you the roll of cash, equaling 625$. He sighs, "Sorry 'bout hitting you." Richie brings over the pack and hands it you, a brief mumble of, "There's half a kilo of good Push in there, man. All the shit you could ever need, and then some. All the stuff you need to snort and smoke it, too. Have fun, sorry 'bout nailing you."

With that, the group of teens race back to their car and start driving down the road. You push your way out of the small crowd, definitely noticed, and you start walking down the street with the backpack on your shoulder, battered but feeling okay.

Alright, next set of shopping involves getting to a costume shop to get aging-makeup, a grey wig, sunglasses and a cane (<$200), and then to a camping store for a hunting knife, multi-tool, sturdy rope, fishing line, fishing hooks, and if buying a gun doesn't involve background checks, licenses, or other legal difficulties, get a pistol with ammunition too (<$1000).  Then grab a taxi and get to the slums.

Edit: Almost forgot, a roll of duct tape and a first aid kit would be useful from that camping store.

But as you walk down the street, you hear a whisper from an alleyway. "Yo, Fenneth." You pause and step into the cool darkness of the alley, the alley being relatively clean and not entirely unpleasent. The black man who hailed you over is missing a few teeth and looks rather worse for wear, but he looks alright. He grins and says, "The name's Bradley. You're the bastard who's on the show, right?"

You cautiously nod, and he grins, "Follow me, then. I've been doin' this shit fo' five years, and the pigs never find me. Hell, I started by helping Richards himself, you believe that good shit?" You follow Bradley through a tangled trail of alleys, and clench your nose as he lifts up a manhole cover and drops in. You follow him in and keep walking, carrying the heavy suitcase, the condition of the passage slowly deteriorating as time goes by. You realize you've entered the slums when you emerge from the final corridor into the sunlight. You run after Bradley into a dilapidated warehouse, lugging your suitcase behind you. Bradley heads straight to the far, empty corner and lifts up a few planks, revealing a trap door. He pries it open with your help and you drop in, landing on rough stone stairs. You head down into the basment and look around the small room, the room occupied with shelves and tables littered with objects. Bradley grins and says, "Take ya pick. You'll need it."

You quickly pick out camping supplies and a few other treasures:

After you make your picks, Bradley leads you towards a door at the back of the room and opens it, heading in. You haul your suitcase behind you as you head in, looking at the three small tables and the blank white canvas against the wall. You leave your suitcase at the door and are directed to stand against the canvas by a person who looks like he should be wearing gang colors instead of a buisness suit. You quickly put on your wig and aging make-up before the photo is taken, and once your disguise is complete, the bulb flashes. Your picture is printed out and cut and pasted onto a plastic laminated card. Bradley is busy gathering papers, and as you walk towards your suitcase, he steps into your path.

"Whoa buddy! I need to give you this good shit!" He leads you to a table, and you pick up:

As you brush yourself off and begin to head towards the shopping district, you decide to take a brief short cut through an alley. Bad move. No sooner then you've taken three steps in you hear, "Damn, you don't look rich, but give me all your shit anyways."

A moment of dead silence for a second as you frantically think, and then the mugger says, "Hey, you're the guy on the FreeVee! Shit, you must still have the Games Money! hand it over, now!" The glint of a knife appears in the shadows, so you take initiative and swing a punch at the mugger.

The Mugger rolls a 5 for his dodge!

The punch sails towards the mugger, and the mugger tries to dodge...and he ducks under the punch, ready to retaliate as he rushes forward, swinging the knife!

Zak sidesteps the Mugger's hasty slash, ramming his knee forward and smashing it into his stomach. The Mugger promptly bends over, wheezing as Zak raises his fist and smashes it into the Mugger's face. A sickening chruch is heard as the Mugger falls backwards, a tooth flying out of his mouth. With one well-aimed kick to the face by Zak, the Mugger is on the ground, bleeding and unconscious. You rummage through his pockets to find:

You head to it and ask for some food and water, and the owner doesn't recognize you at all(Disguise Roll=5+1). You is a generous man, so he hands you:

You thank him and head out into the street, deciding you need to find someone to help you evade authorities. You search for a group(Roll=2), but you aren't fortunate to fin d anyone who could you.

FreeVees over the city switch to The Running Man for an update, and Bobby appears on screen.

"Good citizens! The hunt is on! You can now call in sightings of the three dangerous men you are hunting, and for every confirmed sighting, you win a hundred NewBucks! For a sighting that leads to a kill, you win a thousand NewBucks! Remember, they could be anywhere, a face on the steet to all but a viligant observer, and that observer could be you. Help society eliminate these dangerous men, and you could earn some cash while doing it. Call the hotline(the number appears on the screen and stays there, but it is unnecessary, as most people know it already) when you get a sighting, and you'll help the proper authorities find these men."

THEN, go back to shopping for the stuff I wanted before. NO F***ING SHORTCUTS! NO JAYWALKING! NO BREAKING THE LAW! Just blend with the crowd, get my shit, change disguises and patch myself up and head to the upper-lower class district.
