Dwarf Fortress at E3?
« on: June 19, 2009, 01:20:07 pm »

I was reading the "Stupid question: Why is DF still an indie game and not properly developed/sold?" thread, and that got me wondering...
What would a Dwarf Fortress booth at E3 look like?  How would it be received?

And I've gotta wonder, what do ASCII Booth Babes look like?

The dwarven economy is just a stand-in, from what I understand. As it is, it represents an actual economic system about as well as poison ivy represents a salad.

the flooring of the booth would be . , ; etc, and it should change color depending on how many people walk on it, like green for grass and the more people walk on it it turns to red of silty clay or yellow for sand of that color...

Toady should be there wearing a shirt that has the king on it :D

There will be a Bay12 games booth.... and the walls will be engraved with a human striking a menacing pose and other humans making plaintive gestures...

DF isn't open source anyway. I know what you mean, though.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I think mocking the hell out of E3 would be quite funny, but I also think that an E3 booth costs quite a bit of money and time, both of which are better spend on actualy working on the game  ;)
