And yes, Aqizzar, that's a big problem. Actually, that's my problem with any prediction of a singularity event anytime within the next hundred years. On top of that, we take about 5 years learning how to use our body. What makes us think that we can just plug in to a new one, even if the architecture is there?
You're probably right about humans, but why assume humans have to be involved at all?

A singularity almost has to be driven by AIs. Otherwise it isn't much of a singularity. It's supposed to consist of change happening faster than humans can understand, after all.

Pfft. The Fourth Empire probably tore apart an entire arm of the galaxy to build their armada. The Emperor's personal guard was composed of around 70-80 4000km wide planetoids. His. Personal. Guard.

The rods-from-god idea isnt too bad actually. You're not aiming for a specific target, you just want to level a city. Why not just launch dirt cheap satellites capable of withstanding re-entry to purposely (with the help of an onboard computer) drop themselves out of orbit on a city? Even if you miss, the hit to enemy morale will be devestating: Holy shit. Our enemies can drop shit on us from space.

Im also surprised no ones mentioned railguns yet.

On the topic of space warfare, i foresee no more than 3-4 different types of platform: standard communications/spy satellites, heavy orbital weaponry (ion cannons, rods-from-god, etc.), and sabotage craft, light, stealthy, throwaway ships that cozy up to an existing platform and detonate; the 4th type would most likely be some sort of defense ship, but i dont know how those would function.

There will always, no matter how advanced war gets, be a guy with a gun somewhere on the front lines. Until humans either develop extremely powerful psychic abilities, or the entire war moves into virtual reality.

Now, make a Metal Storm case, but instead of barrels, have smaller Metal Storms in them.

Also, auto shotgun:

"Enuf dakka" is when the entire universe is turned into a gun. Which would then have to shoot at itself, for lack of a better target.

And even that would be laughably lackluster.

With nanotechnology, armor piercing is going to be relatively useless. An AP bullet just shatter when hitting them, probably resulting in no more than a bruise. Heck, there'd be dampening with the armor too, which means it could survive heavy impacts. Explosions will be even more useless.

The best way to damage such heavy armor is to knock them around. Armor would probably be weakest at the back.. slamming a guy into a wall would do much more than gunning him with 9 mm AP rounds. That's why you need melee combat.

Rocket launchers would still work. They'd have enough mass to knock down armored foes. But they'd have less effect than a 2-story tall robot wielding a combat golf club. Also, note that with better armor, rockets would glance off the weak points.

Lots and lots of completely unbased assumptions is what I can see here.

He kind of has a point.  IE: If there's a human driver, the best way to take out a piece of equipment is to take out that driver.  If you can't get a bullet into the armor, just try to give the driver a concussion.  Spin the robot until the driver's blood rushes to their head (given you have a big enough machine to do this.)  ;)  If we aren't talking humans, the same could be said.  If armor becomes so advanced do to nanostructuring that it can deflect or absorb a bullet, then you simply let the weight of such a machine do the work for you.  It's like how some of the martial arts let the momentum of larger people be their own undoing.  There's likely a part in the machine that will break from impact.
