I have always seen them as being tall. You know, opposites of dwarves.

If they were shorter than humans, then they wouldnt do short jokes.

i play a bloodelf in wow and cant stop it. i know there is the chance to play a dwarf too, i sometimes really want to, but i cant stop playing my bloodelf...
also i love the forgotten realms drow
i really love dwarfs in most fantasy games, even use them as my character very often... but i cant stop playing my bloodelf and sometimes play a (no drizz clone) drow in the forgotten realm games/pen&paper

THe only type of elfs I prefer are Dark elfs, or drow or shade whatever. Mostly because they're the only elfs that tend to live in caves and almost try to seem dwarf like.

Next your gonna say that dwarves are tall?

If I'm not grossly mistaken(possible), "elf" comes from an old term for "fairy."

I generally imagine elves as short(4-5 feet tall) and dwarves as very short(2'6"-3'6")

Important note, elves can wade in 6/7 water.

Maybe they stand on their tiptoes, or their noses are stuck up so high they can breath in deeper water than us.

Anyway, I admit it, I'm addicted to killing elves. I torture and drown them and beat them and burn them in magma so much, I just don't have the energy left anymore to slap dwarves that try to go outside during a siege or have lunch right where I'm planning a strategic cavein.

I'm an addict too. Every year, I can't help but have an encounter with at least one elf. But, seriously, I shouldn't be here. Those elves twisted their story when they told it to the police, and now I'm stuck here. I swear, they ambushed me!

I know that darkies usually have white hair, black skin and black (maybe blue) or red eyes but what the hell would a desert elf look like!?

I can't stop forging steel hammers and cut down trees with my axe. I've been assigned to fight in military since last Limestone. I can't stop splitting my comrades' heads in training sessions.
I love Elves. Especially hostile ones, you don't have to feel guilty after ripping out their bone marrow.
I really enjoy being a Dwarf but sometimes, I like myself way too much for my own good. Strange moods occure more frequently, I've even been in therapy, but our Consoler Dwarf (psychiatrist) got mad, due to the lack of alcohol, and killed himself by jumping into a magma pit.

They have dark-ish skin (like middle-eastern people). Everything else kinda depends on the media they appear in. But they live in the desert. The desert is win. Thus, desert elves are win.
