Because elves harvest wood naturally from trees which are going to die anyway, or branches which have fallen off. They don't murder trees like you, you terrible bearded devil.

I think Tolkein elves were the first ones to put me off elves. Stupid poncy bastards. Fuck all of you! The dwarves single handedly held off the hordes of unending goblins for thousands of years, and the elves bugger off back to another country? not on my watch you don't you little sissy haired bastards!

the fire imps in my fortress set fire whenever an elf comes to trade, the entire field is burnt down completely.

I decided to try my hand at making a human fort recently. Whenever an elven caravan comes, one of my humans goes into a tantrum and destroys the depot after they have unloaded their goods. Seems everyone hates the elves.
