On a side note, I actually do like the elves. I'd prefer them bringing silk though.

I do not however like hobgoblins... or xelics... or what ever else is in there from dwarves, elves and humans.

I scratch what I said- elves are my number 2 (number 1 is goblins) importer of bone, which is critical for making bone bolts my marksdwarves can train with.

As for their porn viability- you're probably thinking of the city elves. They're pretty much as good as humans. Erm, not that kind of "good" but you know what I mean. The ones that tell fortresses with armies twice the size of their population to stop cutting trees every year... they don't wash. Ever. Soap is unethical. Apparently porn is too, but they still breed like rabbits... speaking of which, they're full of STD's.

the elves can be awesome, it just depends where they grew up for instance, if an Elf Civ was taken over by the dwarves, and they didn't kill off all the elves, and the elf children grew up in a dwarvern enviroment... You end up with steel clad forest destroyers. much cooler than you regular Tree-Huggers

No, what you get are humans.

The elves were affected so much by the dwarves beardedness that they started growing beards of their own and their ears turned normal. They still kept their overground preferences but picked up building and smelting from the dwarves. Finally they left the fortress and started to destroy the environment like dwarves.

And that is how humans came to be.
