Good point. It would make sense if no rent was due if nobody has stayed in it for the month, and nothing had been stored in it.

You still owe rent even if you don't use an apartment. You need to cancel your lease to stop renting. So rather than have it auto end your lease, you should need to visit the landlord and cancel your lease.

Seems like it would be easy enough to change the "rent a room" dialogue choice to a "cancel lease" one, eh?


Oh, and sometimes squad members will still BE in an apartment even AFTER it ceases being a safehouse. Whoops!
