Will we be able to order our squads into squares and have them march down the central hallway of the fortress periodically to show off their shiny weapons to the onlookers?
The showoff part people won't care about, but you should be able to move them around more or less in a formation. Given that dwarves move at different speeds sometimes and are phased differently, they'd have to work extra hard to get it to sync up perfectly, and I'm not sure if I'll go through the trouble at this time, but even in the worst case they should stay within a tile of the optimal position and then attain the proper position when they stop moving. We'll see how that plays out though, he he he.
Toady,please don't remove the visualizer.
Does it actually do something useful for you? I can't even get it to do what it used to do now, in terms of anything at all, aside from seeing a gray blob that kinda moves sometimes.
Good show, was the length planned or did you just see how long you could go?
I think it might have been Languidiir's planned length, but since they were also going to do another podcast that day, I'm not sure if it was always the planned length or if it became the planned length a few hours through.
I, personally, would like to see more interviews with Toady like this one.
Can we look forward to more interviews?
edit: Languidiir got here first in the post above, but I'll just leave this as is:
I'll most likely appear on other podcasts intermittently as they come up. In terms of the broader question, three forum people now over the months/years/whatever have extended serious offers to co-host a B12 podcast or whatever it would be. It seems like there's some interest in that kind of thing, and as long as it wasn't that often, it wouldn't be a huge time sink for me and it probably wouldn't get too boring for those that are interested in listening to begin with. The problem now is that I just have no idea how I'd set that up or handle any number of people large or small that might want to be involved in some way.
