Since fatigue rarely lends itself to (positive) creativity, the next update will not occur for another eight through fourteen hours.  Possibly longer.

EDIT: One bout of severe insomnia later, I'm questioning my ability to write a half-decent turn(again).  I'm going to hold on it for today, unless I can get some sleep.  Sorry, guys.

OPEN THE CONTAINER
OPEN IT NOW
See if there's a label on it first?
Muttering to himself, Bran opens the fridge again, slowly opening the freezer drawer.  Examining the canister, he notices a tag taped to the canister, though it only reads 'NG'.  Pulling it out of the freezer with considerable effort, he sets it down carefully, and attempts to open it.  Wrenching the lid off quickly, Bran looks inside and notes that it seems to be filled with some sort of crystalline material.

NG? Frozen nitroglycerin! Panic momentarily, then start thinking that you could do some real damage with this.

Extract a very small amount, and search for something to put it in. We need to experiment on this to see if it really is nitroglycerin.

Half-thought you people just abandoned ship on some wild bet.  Hope some other people will back you up on actions, though it'll have to wait, what with me about to go asleep and classes tomorrow.

Suddenly struck by the realization that this could be something rather dangerous, Bran starts to carefully move away from the canister.  If he remembered right, nitroglycerin was less unstable when kept below a certain temperature, but this was certainly being reversed by the fact that he'd taken it out of the freezer.  Regardless, it may prove useful if he could avoid blowing himself up.  Careful not to move the container, Bran quickly looks through the nearest cabinet, finding it full of some cheap plastic cups and plastic silverware.   Grabbing a spoon and a smaller cup, he shakily scrapes up some of the crystals and puts them into the cup, setting both on the floor.

Carefully put NG container back in freezer.

Then watch the cup. From far away.

Carefully put NG container back in freezer.

But it's not going to detonate at room temperature. Hm, how to...

Bah. Just wait for it to unfreeze and then drop a match in there. It probably won't kill us: the worst that could happen is scratches from the plastic and burns from the explosion. We do have matches, right?

The room that potentially contained a psycho who left some volatile explosives in his freezer?  Well, you might find some in the remaining cabinets.

Carefully replacing the lid and placing the canister back in the freezer, Bran closes the door of the fridge and leaves the cup on the floor on the other side of the room (which isn't much) from the cabinets.   Examining the cabinets, all that the second contains is some generic nasty cereal and the third cabinet has several rolls of duct tape.  Shrugging, Bran puts his earplugs back in and watches the cup as the crystals slowly melt.

Note the microwave, which I forgot to put into the room inventory.  My bad.

Do you reckon putting nitroglycerin inside would wreck the microwave?

Put what remains of the crystals in the nitroglycerin.
