I propose that we can have daggers out in the open as long as we dont slit throats!

I propose that daggers are expensive, iron being a rare commodotiy indeed!
This being the Zefie nation from Age of Restoration.

Right to bear arms is highly protected, you can carry whatever you want.
Daggers are, in fact, VERY expensive. We can handwave the human carrying one, but not so much for the zefies.

Still missing a turn from Inaluct, I'm working on results right now.

I will be more RP than you people!

Cemir had been in Fortress for a couple of weeks, but he still hadn't gotten a job, and was starting to run out of money. He made his way over to the zefie job bulletin board and scanned it. Did he have any experience farming? No. Was he bigger than a zefie? Yes. Farming was a possibility, as was working in construction. Mining seemed to be closed to non-zefies. Racists. He could always try to be a fashion designer. He was human, so he might get the job easily. It'd be outsider art. Like a gorilla painting pictures, or something. But with clothes. And more money.

Cemir was snapped out of his pointless reverie by noticing that the research guild was offering cake to people who showed up. This was his big chance!

(Go get some cake! :U Maybe see what the research job entails, too. How big are zefies, anyway?)

I will look for a single stand with one person near it. Kill them but make sure no one is near. Take everything.

Also, how do zefies support their buildings? Post and lintel architecture?

Architecture is somewhat variable. Some stuff looks middle age castleish, some with Romanesque posts

"I have several ideas. First and foremost, I think that zefie cavalry and colonists could both benefit from the use of a shaduf, a human invention used to easily lift water and other objects. It consists of a pole mounted on a firm, stable frame, with a weight on one end and a bucket on the other. The section of the pole with the weight is shorter than the section with the bucket. Since that end is shorter than the other, it can facilitate the easy lifting of things in the bucket. Colonists and farmers could use it to improve irrigation, and the military could use it as a light, portable machine to help cavalry zefies get onto the backs of horses. Obviously, the version used by the colonists would have to be smaller than the one used to elevate cavalry zefies."

"Also, because zefie soldiers are significantly lighter than those of other races, it would probably be possible to train mountain goats to carry zefie riders. Fortress's can probably get some elves, who could probably help with the training. A special bucket saddle could be used to prevent falling off of the goats. Riding mountain goats would give zefie forces unprecedented and unequaled domination of military engagements in mountainous terrain. Equipping mountain goat riding zefies with bows would make them a legendary force; they would be capable of reaching areas no normal force could, and then raining arrows down upon their enemies."

"I'm not aware of zefies having a procedure for mass producing batches of bread, either. I think that zefie bakers could benefit from a simple machine designed to facilitate easier mixing of large amounts dough and batter. Faster bread production coupled with increased grain production from the use of a shaduf and other improved irrigation methods could solve any overpopulation problems Fortress has. If the shaduf isn't enough, I'm sure I can assist zefie engineers in calculating the optimal degree that the sides of a canal should slope at to prevent crumbling or ineffective transportation of water. In fact, a system of improved canals and aqueducts could really improve Fortress."

"Should I keep talking?"

Two people's turns are in. The others have twenty minutes + writing time to post.

Just so you know Inaluct, there aren't to many regugees in Fortress yet. The Zefies haven't met anyone other than more zefies and a few humans.
