We Can Move Mountains: Succession Game
« on: June 14, 2009, 12:58:24 am »

I've come back from a long absence from this forum with a pretty good idea:

Why don't we do a succession game with the ultimate goal of collapsing the entire section of mountain that we start next to?

I don't have an adequate computer to start this at the moment, but until I do, would anyone be interested in this project?

Obviously, what we would do is dig out the entire base of the mountain at ground level and then pull a lever which collapses the entire thing. I'm a decent author, so I should be able to make it entertaining at the very least.

Sign up if you think it's a good idea, tell me if I'm a crazy idiot!

You're a madman, a crazy person, and an all-round lunatic. This ought to be interesting.

now, are you imply going to colapse it? you need to try to make the whole mountain fold into one perfectly flat z-level on the ground. that, or match it layer by layer underground so we can turn the whole thing inside out into a vally identical to the origional mountain!

Hush! Foresight and planning have no place here!

Could be interesting.

How about mining the entire mountain, replacing it with constructions as you go.

Goblins turn up and they are truly screwed :)

An entire, constructed, hollow mountain-fortress? Now there's an idea.

We'll see if any of the players run with that.

Atta boy. We'll have this mountain toppled and the new Dwarven Highway built in no time.

If only there was a way to place a massive number of explosives underneath the mountain and get us a shiny new moon.

How about expanding the task even more?

End goal to be a completely flat map, submerged under water or magma.

I think the best way to approach this would be to start on the lowest layer, eventually mining it all out and having supports instead of walls.  From that point on we'd need to replicate the mountain inverted on the z level before finally bringing it all down (The lever of ultimate doom!)
