Idea: a network (think peer-to-peer or usenet) that shuffles data around in some way encrypted and impossible to block without blocking all of the net, so that if a site is blocked, some computer in another country without censure will get the data and relay it to you, there would probably need other features as well to fool every possible atrocity governments can commit, this is just a rough outline. Someone should make this.

And slow down the internet a fuck load.

This would, of course, indeed allow people to access child pornography, but frankly I don't get why there is such a f***king fuss about it. Sure, it's disgusting, but so are a whole lot of things. Sure, MAKING it requires a horrifying atrocity to be vomited, but VIEWING it as far as I know dosn't. As long as they don't pay or support the providers of it, I don't see what the harm is. Finding it on the net might keep them from making their own instead.

The abuse suffered from the making of Child Porn (abuse of the children) instills long lasting mental scars, not just the physical action. That's why there is such a 'fucking' fuss about it. Lives are ruined from Child Abuse.

The problem being, blocking it is not going to stop them from making it; they will just keep it to themselves instead of putting it on the web. And then the people who used to view it will get distressed and will eventually be forced to A)Give it up, or B) Make their own.

And we all know how good humans are at making decisions.

Also, unless they come up with some law allowing them to search hard drives whenever, you'll be fine as long as you don't get caught for something else.

Having policy makers introducing laws about a subject they know very little about is always a lol. In reality, sad as it is, CP will always be distributed across the internet. Its the perfect meduim for it, zero accountability and total anonminity.
I think if state intitutions really want to fight it they need to get onto sites like anontalk and spam pictures of the children that are affected and abused by the people who are profiting from all this. Just because they are pedo's doesnt mean they cant be guilt tripped/trolled.
