Youtube invents ways to annoy me

Nowadays, whenver I go to Youtube for whatever reason, a small little tab thing, labeled "Realtime" and displays "watching now" and "friends". Let me give you a picture of it:

I find this tab to be extremely aggravating to me, and would like it removed. However, there is no readily apparently method of doing this, and that leaves me frustrated and asking you guys. Can anyone help me out?

account --> active sharing --> uncheck "enable active sharing"

Gah! Reviving cause Youtube is conducting 'maintenance' which is happening off-schedule, is longer than usual, frequently going on and off, and thoroughly interrupting me from watching videos.

What the hell? Did someone spill water on the servers or something Youtube? This is aggravating!

I noticed it too.  Yes, Youtube is abusing its dominant market share by being rubbish, just like Microsoft.

Heh, this reminds me of when Friendster copied Facebook applications. And became even spammier. YouTube's already my least favorite video site.
