At the end he did turn into one, look carefully
Also, The goo turned Wikus into an intelligent prawn sort of like Chris.

The next one is District 10 probably, they might behave better if the humans treated them better.

I am getting the feeling 99% of the prawns are as stupid, simpleminded and ignorant as the humans make them out to be. However the prawns that Chris brings back probably won't be.

Where do we get the impression they're stupid and simple-minded?

I mean, they appear to have no concept of ownership, but they may be because they're not permitted to own anything (there's a whole bunch of sites that mention the MNU regulations etc.)

They're violent, but I would be too if I got locked in a slum.

Really, we don't get to see enough of the aliens to make a decision on how inelligent they are.

Actually, the movie explicitly tells us that they are stupid and simple-minded and the in-movie characters theorize that all their leaders died off in an infection. It's in the movie.

Yeah, but it was the HUMANS saying that the aliens were stupid and simple-minded. That doesn't mean they are, it just means the humans think they are, or it benefits them to say they are.

Then again they could be, we really don't have enough knowledge about the aliens to decide on this stuff.

Again, Chris came down in the attached ship - the one they could never find. He is obviously rare for his kind. Notice how the rest of them didn't understand the eviction notice (and the concept of property) until they were tricked into saying yes with a promise of cat food.

And the promise of tires. Sweet, delicious tires.

I think the point was that the aliens on the space ship were not smart by nature of being aliens on a space ship, much like how humans on a 747 are not smart by nature of being humans on a 747.

All of the aliens may fit in perfectly fine on their home planet; everything we see them do and all their behaviors are completely out of context, because we don't know the context. They're called aliens for a reason.

The only reason we think Chris is any smarter than the others is because he's learned the proper way to interact with humans.

And how to run the ship. Maybe he was an operator. He had to land it on earth for an unexplained reason.

Maybe he knew about earth because he was a Cartographer or Navigator?

And reinforcements can mean anything, it could just be more prawns (Behaved and Proper ones) or a military force, heck he could just bring ore of those war robots.

Did anyone remember when the prawns ate that soldier? They probably learned how to do that on the ship, cannibalism.

I thought they were defending wikus. They recognize him as one of their own.

There was another guy, he tried to stop the prawn from eating that tire.

It makes me wonder how they understand eachother though

I like it when two prawns started fighting over the general's corpse. They spend a whole movie humanizing the prawns, only to turn our opinions about them back to the unintelligent animal. This is why, for the movie to stay good, I separate Chris and his son.
