Looks more like an inverted Independence day. What I gathered from the trailer is that the aliens are stuck on earth for some reason and humanity reacts xenophobic and agressive. Things are bound to get out of hand, but not because there's some strange force shooting every citty in sight. Quite the contrary.

Anyone took a look at the site yet? I'm looking around now, but I have to say one thing:
"please do not feed non-human beggers"

There's an old video, which was also made by Neill Blokamp, which acted as sort of the first expression of the ideas that are used in this film. It's called Alive in Joburg, and you can find it...

I like to slip into bear caves around midnight and gently caress the carnivore inside before leaving a small cut of fresh fish and sneaking out.

Yes. It's also a StarWars remake, a Dune remake, and a Startrek remake, oh, and also a Stargate remake.

Saw it. Did not like overly much. It was good and all, but I finally saw Transformers 2 right before it, so all the cool shit was kinda meh in comparison.

Well if you compare budgets, obviously the CG in Transformers is going to be much more amazing.
