Ugh. I need some help with fighting hordes of hunters. (Those big infected that are like tanks from L4D.)

I'm doing a mission rather late in the game and they just swarm in and destroy the thing I'm supposed to protect. I just can't damage enough of them fast enough.

If you mean the mission where you're supposed to protect a tank, then my suggestion is: Get to da choppa!

Using a helicopter makes it much easier. In fact, it's the only method that made that mission doable at all for me. And do abuse the non-seeking air-surface missles, they do wonders against hunters (while they're not next to the tank).

I just stand on the tank with disguise on. When hunters come, I take armor and blade out, and kill them. Then, get to the roof, use disguise, and hop back onto tank.

On normal difficulties, the sword drop can actually kill hunters in one hit when fully charged. And the only time in the entire game that I found armor useful were times where you cannot dodge a shitload of bullets. In all other cases, you can dodge attacks.

Also, I just finished the game. Hunt down the web of intrigue guys or parts of the story make no sense.

Actually, I'm not talking about the tank mission and I have no helicopter to use. All I have, are my powers. The helicopter you can get in the 2nd part of the mission is useless because the weapons do barely any damage and you have too many targets.

I'm talking about

Nothing I do works. If I get in close, they just gangbang me. If I try to use my whipfist circle attack, they just interrupt it.

Don't use whipfist, it's meant for small unite like infected or soldiers. Upgrade the blade, it's meant for big, armored targets like hunters and tanks. The air drop attack does wonders against them.

Yeah, that's how I did it as well. Airdrop. Whipfist is for pussies and little baby men. Whenever you see one attacking the machine, jump-kick it to draw it's attention without damaging the machine.

Another good and understated way is to use the human machineguns. Just keep running while shooting and you'll own everything.

Except that those hunters run faster than you and take about 200 bullets to kill.

You obviously haven't been upgrading your movement skills. I'm faster in a dead sprint than anything ingame. Except maybe the Supreme Hunter, but he's cheap anyways.

Also, a good strategy I use when things are getting tough. Either use running grab or the whip-arm grab to consume infected. Keep moving and only stop to consume. Once you reach critical mass do a devastator and whatever chasing you/near you will be either dead or close to it. It helps if you've upgrade to triple critical mass.

I also vouch for airdrop with the blade.  It'll one-shot hunters.

You didn't upgrade your movement skills...? In a game where 90% is about parkour, the sport of extreme urban navigation...?

Huh... Anyway, hunters die to exactly one assault rifle clip. I'm talking about the machinegun, the big one. With a craptonne of ammo. You should pick it up if you see it.

Smitehappy: That's odd. There's that mission where you first meet the Supreme Hunter and are supposed to lead him to an abandoned military base. It was pretty easy to outrun him there. In fact, you probably had to keep running back to get his attention.

That isn't the Supreme hunter, just an alpha hunter.

Oh sorry, my bad.

I dealt with that by throwing missiles at him and nuking him to oblivion with devastators.

1: I bought EVERY SINGLE movement upgrade there is.

2: I can easily outrun hunters in a SPRINT. But NOT WHEN SHOOTING like you said. I could just keep dodging and making hit and run, but that fails because it's not a fast enough way to kill it.

3: Based on Zero Punctuation, the whipfist is the best weapon against everything. But I've tried hammerfist and muscless. Those work greatly. Now I'll try blade. Time to do those challenges I've been hoarding just for such occasion.
