The civilians are too busy being slaughtered by everyone. :P

That's true, they really have no luck.  If I had a dollar for every time a civilian web target was blown out of my hands by a rocket, I'd have at least five dollars.

EDIT:  Can I ever win?  I finally fixed the overheating, and now it's getting a disk unreadable error every time

My biggest complaint with the game is the abundance of abilities that seem cool, but in practice quickly prove their uselessness.  I'm talking about air combo, powerbomb, and the multitude of other unarmed combat moves.  The only things I know of that can take a punch from Mercer without dying, and are also susceptible to these moves are evolved infected, and there are way more effective means of dealing with them.  I got most of those abilities in anticipation of supersoldiers, but found that they don't work on them.  You can't uppercut a supersoldier in the air, and you can't grab one without bodyslamming him.  In a game where 90% of the enemies fly apart every time you hit the X button, fancy melee combos seem like a waste of EP.

I can't finish the game on medium because my XBox can't read the disk during a mission.  I have one possible fix, if that doesn't work I'm gonna have to send the XBox in.  I have one of the early ones with the bad disk drive, methinks.

UPDATE:  Just beat the game, and I'm confused.

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.

I got the game yesterday, for my birthday. Is it me or does every game with "infected" these days have a nod to dead risings zombie genocider achievement?

Anyway. considering all the plotholes, the discontinued storylines(sister, doctor,GF etc). I would say that there's no point discussing a plot that has been tied together with straws of grass.

I actually thought it was put together pretty well, I thought it simply didn't spoon-feed us everything. Just that the final plot twist felt unnecessary.

Yeah see. The story is really good. Just that developers had no clue how to actually present it in a way we could coherently understand.

Then again, I'd rather spend hours killing stuff than hours listening to people ramble on and on.

I got this game yesterday and spent the whole day playing. This game is a riot...

Just getting in a base, doing a "tendril devastator" dab in the middle and then mowing down everyone left with a heavy machine gun while still in your commander disguise is loads of fun. Street Sweeper works wonders against marines.

And whoever asked: the game has an Easy, Medium and Hard difficulty. I'm playing on Easy the first time.
