Prototype
« on: June 10, 2009, 01:56:10 pm »

This game is basically Assassin's Creed on crack. That's not a bad thing, oh no. I love running everywhere with no restrictions and jumping around like a monkey while going ballistic, killing everything and everyone.

So... it's Hulk: Ultimate Destruction + Spiderman + Assassin's Creed + Mirror's Edge.

It's quite fun, but the game can get repetitive if you don't like this sort of genre. Also, there isn't a lot to do other than the main missions. The diversions are interesting, but they're nothing new or original: race here, run there, kill these many people.

Also, fighting the infected is a major pain.

I like it, it is fun assuming you like the genre. Personally I am glad that the infected are a major pain to fight, otherwise there would be no challenge in the game.

Oh yeah, by the way. Even though the protagonist dresses like some emo punk, he's not an emo punk.

If anything, he's a crazed killer.

It's awesome. The way you can run over pretty much anything and anyone is great.

Yeah, it's quite liberating.

Makes you wish you could do this in other freeform games.

How does it compare to infamous?

More flat out violent than inFamous, and I don't feel the story is quite as good but it's still pretty fun. They're very different animals despite both being open world superhero games

That game was just above average for me. A renting game, but I don't think the world agree with me. The entire town was treating me like their slave, and the second I do something wrong, everyone HATES me. And if I do things right? Everyone HATES me even more! I left like I was playing some sort of Anikan Skywalker.

Also, while the story was not exactly predictable, I did  call that the *ENDGAME SPOILER*
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
*/ENDGAME SPOILER* Lucky guess, I suppose.

Cool, I'll see if I can get in the next three days here *crosses fingers*. This should be good.

Anyone notice how open world games, on general, seem to be better than most? Maybe that is just me though.

Considering Prototype uses the CPU smartly (It uses about 40% of my cpu with all settings on max) I might go ahead and start recording vids from its awesomeness.

The only issue I have so far is that I haven't seen any indoors, except for cutscenes, which it has plenty of. Including movies... Damn, lots of them.
