Okay, so, I need help remembering a game with a description as follows;
You're a riot cop or SWAT or some sort of gun-toting cop man. The city you're in has become gang and violence/crime riddled, and you basically fight your way through hordes of gangsters wearing crazy masks and whatnot. Riot shields(both cop and gang make) were used widely, and it had special missions you could do to unlock stuff.
The final level involved the gangs hitting you at your apartment, and you had to fight your way through them and a meat-processing plant.
I recall you could arrest some mooks for bonuses, or just straight up execute them.

Urban Chaos: Riot Response.

Damn fun game, by the by. I'm glad I picked it up when I had the chance.
Seconded. Fun even if(especially if?) you ignore the fact that T-Zero(the police unit that consists entirely of the player, plus one or two NPCs) really is a corrupt militia that takes it's "police" efforts way beyond what is legal.

I return to haunt this thread! :P Seriously, you guys are awesome.

There's a certain game that I have given up on trying to remember, but was just reminded of indirectly elsewhere. It was a platformer, where you played as some sort of a chip inside a computer world. You were on a mission to rescue your girlfriend, and you did that by pummeling through the enemies and collecting new powers Rayman-style. It was colourful, and a lot of fun, and I want to play that again.

Does any of that ring a bell?

Would be helpful to know the platform and a rough timeframe, because the bell it rings with me is this old NES game.

It was PC; timeline... I want to say it was a DOS/Win95 program. It's not Kabuki, as the character was a computer chip.

I didn't know you literally meant a Microchip, so I was going to suggest this.

Maybe not though. Sounds... really really vaguely familiar, though.

There was this survival game not long ago, it was really early in dev, you moved a well-built cartoony guy and hit trees with a button, they fell and you got the wood so you could build stuff like a home etc. It was top down, sorta like a more animated Unreal World, but so far there was only trees everywhere.

Sounds a bit like don't starve.

It does, but I'm almost certain it wasn't. In the game I think Segius is talking about you could travel in a zoomed-out map mode. I can't remember it's name.

Yes, I forgot to say that it definitely isn't Don't Starve. But seeing the game on sale reminded me of the other game.

It was VERY early stages of development, and the demo was free, I think you could only build a couple of things with the wood you harvested.

I think there was a thread in these forums about it.

Wait now I remember it too.
At least I think. It had a big generates (island I think) map. You could, I think, build fires, walls, and signs. That was it.

On, wasn't it isometric or something? Bright colours and what not, and German name for it?

Shiffbruch, or something like that. I believe it's German for 'shipwreck(ed)'?

Schiffbruch

It almost reminds me of RPG World Online.

Cheers, but Schiffbruch isn't the game I was thinking of. Schiffbruch is finished for a start.
