That link goes strange places for me, so... just in case, I'm fairly sure that's Star Ruler. There's a thread on the forum somewhere.

There is an extremely old game I used to play on a black-and-green screen. It was a side-scrolling helicopter game, where enemies came from the right and you fought them. My memory is very foggy... but I had a lot of fun with that ancient game. Would anyone remember that?

I'd suspect either Choplifter (or one of its clones) or Armor Alley.

Think a LOT older. Green and black side-scroller.

no, I think he's right.  Armor Alley sounds like exactly it, I played it on a Apple II green-screen.  Also known as Rescue Raiders:

this is in color, but I played it in green:  http://pds8.egloos.com/pds/200806/05/08/e0000208_48473f134762b.jpg

like so:  http://leucht.com/photos/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2816&g2_serialNumber=2

or, Choplifter in green:  http://russpond.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/choplifter_lg-300x206.gif

You guys are correct, thank you!! Armor Alley brought up some 3D screenshots for me originally, hence my thinking.
Oh man, I have to see if it's abandonware yet.

Ok, this is reeeeally old one and it has been bugging me for years. I was born in 81 but my grandfather and uncle were really into computers and there was always one in the house. This was a dos game that I got at an Electronics Boutique or something similar when I was probably around 8 or 9 that came on a  5 1⁄4-in floppy and was basically a medieval fighting game for the 386 that was mostly weapons based. I remember you could be a sorta robin hood looking guy, a dude with a quarterstaff, a knight with a sword etc.. and you would just vs fight and I remember it being really fun. I can't remember the name and have never been able to find anything about it online. I would love to find a screencap or even a download for some good nostalgia. I've looked through abandonware sites with no luck.

This comes a bit late but was it Knight Games?

An old multiple platform game. It was kind of interactive fiction. Sci-fi. You were the last man on Earth (you come back after a space mission or something to find everyone gone). It has you working your way through the information on computer terminals trying to figure out what happened. Any ideas?

Edit: Found it. It's called Portal.

There was an old DOS game in which you were a pizza deliveryman (?) in a post-apocalyptic (?) world. You had to drive between fortified bunkers delivering pizza. Occasionally, earthquakes happened, forcing your truck/buggy/whatever to stop and even changing the terrain (if I recall correctly).
I used to play it when I was around 4 years old. I don't know when it was actually released, but it had primitive 3D graphics. Apparently, it was made in the early 1990s.

Never heard of it before, but I now I want to play it.
Looks like there was a Kickstarter attempt to remake it as a 3D adventure game. Failed hard to reach its reckless goal.

Would a terminal-based game even work as a 3D adventure game? Seems like it wouldn't.

Amiga emulators are a bit more complex to set up than others I've used, but it's worth it for the mouse support. I suggest you do the same if you decide to play it.

From what it says on the Kickstarter page it sounds like you'd of had to explore the world finding items at first. It also sounds like there would have been some kind of holographic virtual reality (they even have similar technology in the original, but you can only get the keyboard, mouse, and monitor working).

My WinUAE is strong. After a brief visit to BTTR I already have the game up and running.

Edit: This is obviously one of those games where reading the manual is needed for context.

It's now out yet, but I lost the link of it and forgot the name of it, so here goes...

It's supposed to be an MMO that's going to be open-ended, and some interesting features promised were:
  • Learning innovations that you can choose to share with others, or keep for yourself.
  • Plagues.
  • Magic, which would be very hard to even learn how to find spells, thus making it rare.
  • Randomly generated dungeons that would pop into & out of existence.
  • Player-made settlements, with the ability to attack other settlements as well.
  • Starts out with humans, but supposedly other races would be added after the main game has finished development.

What I remember backstory-wise is that the world barely survived an invasion of creatures, and supposedly the game would start a year or so after the invasion was repelled. The genre is supposed to be medieval fantasy

Hopefully one of you has heard of this game!

EDIT: I HAVE FOUND THE GAME! If anyone else is searching for it, it's Trials of Ascension.

Time for something a little different, I need help finding a board game.

I played this when I was a kid so it atleast has 15 years or so on it's neck (probably more).
It was a fantasy rpg-lite boardgame.
The gamemap spanned a realm with several different areas (mountains, swamps etc.) and several different castles.
Each player chose a castle to start in which would be their base of operations.
You played the game by traveling around the board with your hero, doing quests, gaining levels, buying from shops, gaining gold etc.
I believe there was a pnp style battle system with tons of dice rolling and looking up stuff.
I believe the center of the map held something special but I can't remember what.
You won the game by doing... something... which triggered the endgame (might be defeating whatever was in the middle or something.) Then traveling back to your home castle, upon reaching your home castle you had to fight a dragon. The first player that defeated that dragon, won the game.
I believe your hero could perma-die in the game.
