Alright guys. 1st Person turn-based CRPG. It was inspired on old-school The Bard's Tale (basically a clone), except it used guns and stuff. It was a sort of indie/shareware/freeware or something. Graphics were pretty basic, no 3D or anything. Also it started a bit linear, there was a story, unlike BT's free town roaming (didn't get too far into it so I don't know if it stops railroading you eventually).

It wasn't made by any big studio, so it's not Wasteland, Buck Rogers, etc. Also, not REALLY old. (probably post-2000).

nor any of the gold box games, eh?  if it was a shareware game, could it have been something hacked together with the old bards tale construction kit?

Buck Rogers is what I would have put my money on if you hadn't ruled it out.  There were at least three, Countdown to Doomsday, Planet Zoom, and Matrix Cubed.  Sure it was none of them?

The real puzzler is for it to be a post 2000 game, as all the ones you listed were from the 80s I think.  Did it play natively on a computer from around 2000, or did it need an older OS or some sort of emulation?

There was also this thing called Hired Guns which was available both on Dos and Amiga... Think it was a 90s game but not sure.  Probably more like Dungeon Master than Bard's Tale though.

Some more searching reveals this series, which fits the bill.  Wizardry style game play, with sci-fi elements:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei

I'm guessing not, though.

It wasn't made in any construction set AFAIK, or a modded game. It was programmed from scratch, it had simple UI but decent art actually (in whatever little box that had a graphic). I think it was for DOS, but I'm pretty sure it was made after Windows 95/98/ME was already the default gaming platform, so it was more like a Retro Game than an oldie/abandonware. It might have been for Windows, but since it was pre-Vista I'm pretty sure it ran fine without any emulation (probably ran well in XP command-line).

It may have been a freeware and not shareware. It wasn't open-source or anything. Looked kinda like a fan-game. It was nearly exactly a Bard's Tale clone, but set in the Future.

I played most SSI games, especially Buck Rogers extensively, and it wasn't them. Planet of Zoom wasn't a RPG, it was a shooter.

I'm looking for the name of a game I played a while ago. It probably came out in 2000-2005 but I am not sure about that. You had to create your own Dino Park on an island, although you could also build regular stuff like shops and rides. The most important aspect of the game was buying Dino DNA and crossing different dino breeds, to get ultimate traits. These dinos could than be placed in the park where your visitors can watch them, or you can make an arena / race track / puzzle track for different dinos to compete in.

NEVERMIND. The game is called Dino Island.

I have no idea how I managed to forget that >.<

I am looking for a game where you fought ogres by jumping on their backs and dodging their fists while doing parkour in a castle like place while chasing a dude

Could you be thinking of one of the Prince of Persia games?

My guess is Warrior Within. That had climbing on ogres to kill them as well as sliding down curtains. Although you didn't chase a dude, you were the dude being chased.

Forgotten Sands has you sliding down curtains as well. And jumping on people to kill them. Not sure about ogres though.

Seems like it definitely had ogres.

Please don't say you think of Sands of Time as the original. I'm going to feel so old. Sands of Time is a recent game.

Just wanted to add, the graphic style looked somewhat like this one:

I'm pretty sure it's not that game, but it looks a lot like it. I'm sure you started with a gun or something and had more than one person party, and the 1st person walls weren't so plain.

Let's see this time.... it was a flash game in black and white (though blood was red). You started the game by creating a character using a simple base template and adding things like a hat, glasses, suit and so on. The characters had no legs and Rayman style hands (floating, the hands were circles).

The game was a stage gun game. You'd go through an area being attacked by thugs and armed gunmen, picking up knives, bats and other weapons along the way, using the mouse to aim and swing weapons and flicking to throw them away when they ran out of ammunition. The story involved something about the city your in running out of pie and your quest for revenge against the mayor.

I believe it was called Mad... something.
