I remember playing a game many years ago that was a kind of tower defense, but used a spreading fluid over a topographical map instead of normal creeps. All the towers needed to be connected to each other, and power needed to be generated and sent over in individual packets to make them operate. It also had a map editor, and I must've made and submitted 30+ maps for it. It's killing me that I can't remember its name.

Creeper World. There's a few flash versions running around (Several on kongregate, ferex.), as well as stand alone stuff.

And ninja'd, heh.

Try this on for size guys:

I remember this game on the play station 2, it was on a demo disc I got somewhere and wasn't the full game.

You had two sides, and you could each build units, such as tanks, helicopters or planes. You have two mechs, 1 on each side, that could transform into a mech and into a plane. It was like 2.5d. The enemy ai said, on occasion "I don't think so" about something. If you guys find this game, I'll give whoever found it £5.00

Honestly... sounds kinda' like Herzog Zwei, but that's considerably older than PS2 (and I don't think it had planes for units... or voices). You might check this TVTropes page in the video game section, if no one has a more direct idea of what it was.

The only similar non-Herzog Zwei game I remember that's on PS2 is Battle Engine Aquila, and it was mostly action, not strategy, even if you supported ground units.

Another one is a dual joystick arcade game that features mechs in close combat and ranged combat. Very fast paced :)
