dwarf meat roast
« on: June 09, 2009, 10:32:58 pm »

My dwarves are embarking with dwarf meat and elf meat as provisions. What did I do that might cause this? The dwarves still have the tag [BUTCHERABLE_NONSTANDARD] and [ETHIC:EAT_SAPIENT_OTHER:UNTHINKABLE]

I am sure, they say dwarf in everything about them. The tags I added to dwarves after I genned the world are [SPEED:0] and [FIREIMMUNE]  [FIREIMMUNE_SUPER]

I also had added a potpourri of tags from the SoF but that was after I genned the world and I took them out before this embark. They were causing dwarves not to wake up.

Sounds like you may have messed yourself up when modding the game and messing with the tags. You may actually find more answers to this by asking in the modding section.

Did you take away [INTELLIGENT] and replace it with the three tags that it implies?

Just post the raws for us.
Entity and [CREATURE:STANDARD] files.

and errorlog.

Also, try deleting the contents of data/objects and regenning the world.

Wait a moment-some people have been trying to figure out how to do this or something similar (at the very least, butchering enemies). Post, then delete-and he didn't get an error message, so there shouldn't be anything in the error log.

People asked you about errorlog.txt
Apparently you have duplication or other errors.

I.e. " [BUTCHERABLE_NONSTANDARD]" is no longer working.

Also your dwarves and others are pretty screwed... Where's SWIMS_LEARNED? Where're the personality traits?

the lack of swimming means I posted the wrong creature standard [swimming was a learnable skill on embark] the they are identical until the real one has these lines at the end of dwarves
   [SWIMS_LEARNED][SWIM_SPEED:2500]
   [PERSONALITY:IMMODERATION:0:55:100]
   [PERSONALITY:VULNERABILITY:0:45:100]
   [PERSONALITY:STRAIGHTFORWARDNESS:0:55:100]

OK, I'm not sure what could cause some of those errors.

Anyways... what version of Df are you using since the creature file seems dated?

Speed 0 seems like a mistake: I know that speed is roughly "ticks between actions", 0 isn't a good number for that. Having a 0 there might well cause offset errors in flags somewhere, hidden divide-by-zero errors, and things like that. Use speed:1 instead.

Also, make sure that you haven't added any new entities without regening the world, which can cause similar offset issues. Removing the personalities after worldgen might break things too, I'm not sure.
