« on: June 09, 2009, 06:19:42 pm »

In Matgloss_Stone_Mineral, scroll down till you find this:

Code: [Select]
[MATGLOSS_STONE:MICROCLINE]
[NAME:microcline][COLOR:3:7:1][TILE:'%']
[ENVIRONMENT:ALL_STONE:CLUSTER:100]

and replace it with this:
Code: [Select]
[MATGLOSS_STONE:MICROCLINE]
[NAME:microcline][COLOR:7:3:2][TILE:'%']
[ENVIRONMENT:ALL_STONE:CLUSTER:100]

Microline looks like microline now. You're welcome.

I wish I could see it, but my eyes have been burned out by microcline.   :'(

How annoying...
Now that I'm looking for microcline just to see what it looks like now, I can't find any.

I'm uploading a screenie... this is in mayday tileset, so the colors are, I think *slightly* darker than in standard ASCII. Anyway, it's the white stuff with the cyan background.

That said, to those who have it, should I be looking for a more tan color so it's harder to confuse with bismuthinite? Or is that less of a problem without a tileset?

You're using a graphical set, problem solved.

Code: [Select]
[COLOR:7:3:2]

Is that 2 intentional?  I've never seen anything but 0 or 1 there before.

I just entered it there to see what would happen. With a 1, it (the blue background) looks significantly lighter. So at least we know 2 is a valid integer, and a greater number seems, i think, to make things darker. Dunno why it's not used more.

We did all the tedious write-ups for a reason, you know..

In Matgloss_Stone_Mineral, scroll down till you find this:

[MATGLOSS_STONE:MICROCLINE]
This reminds me. Where can I download a fixed width font that will enable me to view any of the files?
I'm running Vista x64 and I spent a couple hours one night searching wikis and googles and never could come up with anything. I don't remember what I found, but it didn't work.
I'm sure if I wanted to dual boot Winows 98 or something, it would come installed with a working Unicode. *sigh*

I'd prefer to have something MS will default to when it sees it, but whatever works.

Changing [COLOR:3:7:1] to [COLOR:3:7:0] is a fairly simple change that should darken the microcline and make it easier on the eyes. 7:3:2 will give it a cyan background with a white symbol.....making it even more of an eyesore for those who don't use tilesets. Also... (from the Wiki) "setting the brightness value to anything other than 0 or 1 appears to act as 1"

IMO this is great. The color isn't my favorite, but my eyes are not being raped and my execution chamber looks less like a crayon scribbling.

"setting the brightness value to anything other than 0 or 1 appears to act as 1"

Well, the thing is, setting it as 1 got me a different color... so I guess that that information must be out of date.

Perhaps the Wiki has it backwards? It might be that any brightness other than 0 or 1 defaults to 0 instead, perhaps someone can test this? I can't do that right now because some of the changes to my mod I made recently will require a re-gen of the world, and I don't have that time right now, just switching the brightness shouldn't require a re-gen though. 0 is always a darker shade than 1, so I would think that would be less of an eyesore.
