I like it. Also involves getting magma high up in the tower and that's a good thing if you ask me  ;D

Also, lav, I considered the magma option but decided fire imps would be far simpler and easier, considering you have to get the magma across the sea and up the tower.

they got some pretty nifty pumping designs on the wiki, we could try that. Fire imps have their coolness factor however.

I cannot disagree with the fact that throwing kittens to fire imps is a certain... attraction.

Perhaps we could build two lighthouses? Northern lighthouse with clear glass windows and southern lighthouse with green glass windows? This way, if captain sees green light , then the shoreline is to the left. If captain sees the white light, the shoreline is to the right. If the captain sees both lights and green light is to the left, the shoreline is right ahead of him. If the captain sees both lights and the green light is to the right then he's probably really screwed up...

There's no need for ultra-complex pumping designs to get magma up. We only need to get a limited amount once, so manual pumping should be enough.

Seems to be the way with things on this forum; if an invention doesn't involve death by magma then you know someone's going to go out of their way to make sure it does involve death by magma... then it gets acknowledged as being a great invention.

It won't mess up the game as far as I'm aware, however, changing their body or such will.

quick question, probably a stupid one, but....

would the magma burn the wooden lighthouse down, or would it not because all of the walls and floors are constructions?

You could build the lighthouse out of ice and the magma wouldn't burn it down.
