While most revolvers only have six shots, there are some very small personal defense ones that had 2 or 3 shots, up to massive ones with I think 9 shots.

Some other easy tactics are simply prying up floor panels. Starts draining the air, and only requires like two clicks and run away to render areas useless, though its also easy to repair if you leave the tiles around. Needs a crowbar to do. I think you can also hide bombs under the floor panel, on top of the grey one but under the white one.

Also, CO2 is your friend, both as an AI traitor and any other sort. Its invisible, abundant, and pretty damn lethal. Plus, if there is a fire, you have an excuse to drag a CO2 canister around, since it smothers fires.

Also, the Captain gets a report stating percentage chances of who is the traitor. Be aware of this. If you can get a look at it, which is unlikely but possible, you can identify exactly who would be best to frame, since the captain is more likely to think its someone high on the list.

To quickly get through a reinforced window grill combo, you need a screwdriver, crowbar, insulated gloves, and wire cutters. Screwdriver, crowbar, screwdriver the window, wirecutter the grill, then screwdriver, crowbar, screwdriver the other window. Can be done to also quickly depressurize an area, or break into the bridge if you have access to EVA equipment. You can also drop a tool and simply kick in the grill, but that is less effective and makes noise, but doesn't require the gloves or wire cutter.

Edit: Turns out I have no idea how to remove the underfloor between space and the white floor tiles.

Ever heard of the term "No justification"?

Just because one guy ruined the game for you doesn't mean you should go and ruin it for EVERYONE ELSE.

I think I had the right to report an admin that was abusing his powers and griefing to OOC.

Admin or not, you do not have the right to ruin the game for everyone.

Vote with your feet. LEAVE THE SERVER. It wont help squat if you just yell about him to us.

I plan to ban on sight for any such violation of RP.

You are NOT ALLOWED to whine about getting killed in OOC! Adminhelp it instead!

You can't ban without permission from Dr. Johbson.

On a side note, what I do in other servers is my buisness, and don't let that interfere with other servers.

Well, you can, I changed that, but I'd prefer if everyone just talked about it first.

EDIT- Oh, wait, I have it special for you Yanlin, thats right, you just seem banhappy sometimes. Yes, I would prefer if you only kick people, but I don't care if you want to ban people too, really. Just take your time, you are very quick to anger.

I'm not banhappy. I just hate griefers.

Tip: Breaking windows with a fire extinguisher, found in hallways and toolboxes, takes less than 5 hits. Much better than prying it out of the floor.

Tip 2: When discovered as the traitor, and being pursued, hide in a locker! You can't see what is in a locker, even with thermals or what have you. Added bonus; You can see what happens, too.
But if you got injected with a tracking implant, which is highly unlikely but possible from a competent security who caught you once, you are screwed.

Tip 3: Secret doors, while taking time to set up, can be so rewarding. Especially when an area is locked down and you need to escape it without people knowing. Just plan ahead of time, when no one is looking.
For instance, you could set up a secret door to the chapel office, and when you get pursued, go in and hide in a coffin. People will think you'll have escaped through maintenance or something. Of course, you have to time it right so they don't see the door.

If you can get assigned as the Geneticist, you are set. Simply hang out, waiting for action. You have access to chemistry, which can get you mustard gas and thermite, and people are almost always gonna die and get dragged to you to be revived. Accidentally forget to save that persons SE, ask the person who dragged them in to let you use theirs, then change them to a monkey too. If you want to be sure they aren't a problem, start irradiating them. You now have two spare IDs, which with the voice changer means you can now be three different people. When questioned, merely state that you revived them but they didn't respond, so you decided to do some testing. Only works if OOC is off, or people are good about not complaining about griefing over OOC.

If your objective is to steal the captains spare ID, make sure you have it. If three captains show up over the course of the game, that's 3 plus spare that are lying around. Not a good situation.

Do not take your traitor tools early. 99% of the time, they are unneeded if you know your job and do good roleplay. They are always a giveaway, and most of them do the same thing as something else that you can explain away. The only one that you can take early without being at risk is the sleepy pen. Remember, your biggest advantage is your job. If your genetics, institute a genetic screening program. Atmos and engineering just need to either wait or make an opportunity and can get in anywhere. Security, well security you can do whatever and get away with it. Medical has anesthetics and toxin rememdy's, both of which are lethal if used right. Others are trickier, but with patience, you can do it.

All right, a part from me.

NOT A TRAITOR

So you're not a traitor and you have no idea what to do? Here is an important advice:

DON'T FUCKING GRIEF

What is griefing? It's a way of playing which spoils other players' fun. It disrupts the game and pisses people off. It's really not hard to guess what can be considered griefing, but I made a short list to avoid further arguments:

Griefing includes, but is not limited to:
  • Killing people when you have no reason to. It's something you shouldn't do unless you are a traitor. Or a rebel. It should be obvious, but for some reason in almost every game there always is a dumbass who is running around the station and pummeling other people's heads with a toolbox. It's not smart. It's not right. And, what's most important, it's not fun. It's just retarded.
  • Sabotaging the station (as above). If killing from no reason is considered griefing, then it should be evident that smashing the outer windows and opening airlocks, pumping out the air from the station, is almost as bad. Also cutting power cables and tampering with vents. You are not a traitor, don't try to become one.
  • Abusing your power in a retarded way. If you are a security officer, don't taze random people and beat the shit out of them. As AI, don't electrify airlocks just for the fun of it.
  • Joining the game as someone of important position, then disconnecting or suiciding. It's so moronic it almost makes me cry.
  • Purposely stupid behavior. For example spamming adminhelp or radio. Talking shit to other people OOC.
  • Doing one of the above to "spice things up". Don't. It's propably already spicy enough.

So what should I do?

Play your character. Do your job. You can play an incompetent, or lazy character, but then remember to RP it correctly. Use your character concept to make gameplay better, not to bend it in the way you see fit. If you are bored, don't worry. Usually there will be something to do for you in next few minutes. If not, it means you play on Extended or Sandbox.

Part of not griefing, DO NOT screw up peoples genes and abandon them. I can't count the number of times I've been revived, then blinded, deafened, paralyzed, and crippled. Its not right to do that without a plan to heal them.

Another thing, breaking into security counts as griefing (planning to grief at least). The only time there should ever be a mad mob outside security is if the mode is revolution. In all other cases it is most likely to be considered griefing. Don't complain when you get banned over this (I was a little idiotic in the last round and didn't do so, but you are fair game now).

Acting moronic is also griefing, such as:

-Cutting wires without gloves in maintanence because you are suicidal. There are better ways to kill yourself, and most of them require much less effort.

-Attempting to disarm security.

-Cripling people.

Also, more importantly, when griefed contact your Admins about it! If you turn out to be right, we will have you healed to make up for the inconveniance. Please use adminhelp to keep ic out of ooc. We have a list of who is and isn't the traitor.

How to tell if you are griefed:
-Is it an assistant?
Most griefers are assistants, as they join in midway through a game and get banned before the next round.

-Is it a non-Baywatcher?
Generally, we are more mature than your average internet "|-|4X0r" (as those idiots insist on calling themselves). A B12er is less likely to be a griefer. So far, we had only a few accounts of this, and all have agreed to stop (at least to the best of my knoledge).

A final note for admins:

Do not abuse your powers.
Do not call a thunderthing match unless agreeded upon by others, that round was horrible.
Investigate first, since the majority of us players seem to be admins, chances are you will have an act of griefing preformed on you.

"Admin or not, you do not have the right to ruin the game for everyone."

I'm pretty sure it didn't ruin the game for anyone - much less, it shouldn't interfere with your RP anyways. If you choose to ignore it, ignore it. There is even a verb called 'Toggle OOC'. Ever heard of it?

I teleported my self there after I died, I thought the only people there were the dead ones? Or maybe that happened after I left, in which case, yes, I agree with you.

At first it was just me and you, and some idiot teleported the whole server in. :(

As traitor, I had to kill one of the Admins that went to the Thunderdome. That pretty much ruined the game for everyone as I can do nothing wrong other than grief, so I didn't.

How to break into rooms using the front door:

Tools needed:
-Crowbar
-Screwdriver
-Multitool
-Welder

What to do:

On low security doors, simply weild the crowbar and use it on the door.

On high security doors, the other stuff becomes necesary, and I might be wrong on this, as I've only done it by trial and error:
-Use screwdriver on door.
-Click on door with multitool in hand.
-(I've cut some wires here, not sure if it did anything)
-Pulse some wires, not sure what happens if you fail, but you are trying to get the bolts fastened.
-Apply crowbar

The welder is for unwelding welded doors and welding unwelded doors.

How to break into a windoored room.
Dissassemble the wall next to it. Engineering storage, anyone?

Also, while looking around on the internets, it seems ALL of the wires have an effect in a door. I'll check both in game and in the code some day.

Also, tip: A big air flow can push you. Don't stand next to just-broken windows leading into space. Also, don't yell "OMG CLOAKED PEOPLE HAX."

Abridged from a wiki article I saw.

Ghetto doorhacking
Find a little used airlock style door.
Use screwdriver on it and pull out wirecutters.
Start cutting wires, stopping when the bolts fall.
Remember which wire caused the bolts to drop.
Go to door you want to get through.
Cut every wire but the one that dropped the bolts.
Crowbar the door open.

Wires have randomized actions every game, but within a match they stay the same through all the doors. So if you can figure out which one powers the bolts, you can cut every other wire and simply crowbar the door open.

How do you open locked windoors. Those blue doors that act like windows and don't fill the square.
