Welcome to Murdermachines. Try the gecko sauce; it's delectable and delightful, a wonderful blend of savory and spicy that makes any dish delicious without being too overwhelming.

I like the look of webadict's site and it seems to be popular so I think we'll go with that one.  It gives the impression of the dwarves taking the first site that seems habitable with both water and magma.
Can you host the file and I'll get this started?

Also, can we get a list of what everyone would like their dwarf to be named/skills desired.  I'll try to keep it as close as random embark allows.
First seven players have the first seven dwarves, anyone else gets theirs when children are born/immigrants arrive.
Okay, I'll post the save. Also, there are no immigrants. There are no more living Dwarves, but still a few Elves, Humans and Goblins. And Orcs. There's more than enough of them.

Just so everyone is clear, this map requires the Orc Mod. Look in the Mod section for a link. Or click this link!

I think migrants and caravans are generated on the spot, as long as there is a pathable map edge, so you need only worry about not getting nobles . . . oh, wait.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Not quite. There are worlds such as these that do not get immigrants or Dwarven caravans, IIRC. I can find a link to them.

World File, right here. Use the picture to find the spot, lordcooper.

Also, a story without any immigrants because all the Dwarves are dead.

I rather enjoyed it as well.

Thanks :)

First update should be tomorrow.

If anyone else has preferences for the dwarf, then speak up :)

Give me a farmer. Also, GET UNDERGROUND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! If you don't the Orcs WILL kill everyone. No point trying to fight them at this point. Perhaps we'll get defenses going some other time.

And don't bother with magma.

Sometimes as early as first winter. They start at 1 dwarfbuck of trade, I believe. But, best start early. Or box yourself in.

No problems if it's winter, I've pretty much always got some simple but decent defences by then.

Okay. But remember that they avoid traps, so don't rely on them.

And don't bother with magma.

Why no magma?

Also, they should be easy enough to kill with just a simple wall and some fortifications.

Don't think of it as being besieged by thralls/husks, think of it as having your own personal moat of life hating mutilated menaces

Now wall yourself in quickly

Don't use it yet. One mistake and everyone dies. Especially if he let's loose imps and firemen.

Anyhow, if you WANT to take on the Orcs, no one's stopping you.
