I've been playing for a while now. Got a Duke, and a King on the way. All's cool.

Unfortunately, I managed to minimize the play window many times without any problems, but upon restoring the window this recent time, I came across this:

I am trying to save the game, but entering the options menu via the Escape key only shows a similar screen. The Music still plays, and the game seems to react to key-presses, so I believe the problem is entirely graphically based.

Also, nothing changed as far as drivers or hardware goes while the game was running. I simply minimized for a moment to check something on Firefox, and restored to find this, while it had been perfectly fine before.

Please help.

News: March 23, 2009: OpenGL/SDL DF 40d11 is up for testing.

*ahem*
The 40dX series is all about graphics.
If switching to them fixes the problem, then there's no need for Toady to do anything about it.

Unfortunately, that does not help my problem. As you can see, I asked for a way to correct this, so that I might save my game. I thank you for your efforts, and the suggestion, but please read the question more thoroughly before replying, and if possible, help me come up with a solution. ^^

<space> <space> <esc> <down arrow> <enter> Should get your game saved no matter what screen you're on, if it's just a graphical issue.

Edit: unless you were somewhere like your fortress->stocks screen and were in the esc menu from there, then you'd need 3 <space>s  Or if you were in a screen that required you to <F9> out of it, and then in the esc menu from there,.  So you could try <space> <F9> <space> <space> <esc> <down arrow> <enter>, and that should really do it from everywhere I think.

I think I've had this problem before too. It mostly clears up just by hitting escape. Unless this is something completely different from what I think it is.

You wanted a correction, but you needed a solution.

Regardless, as it was still responding to your keypresses, your "correction" is to save by touch as detailed above and restart the game.
Preferably as 40d11.

Unfortunately, I think you may be incorrect, as I never asked for a correction to the game, except of course that the current instance of the game could have been corrected, but that would rather be help on solving the problem that was in front of me. ^^;
