At the Sign of the Prancing Pony, Day 1:
Morning dawns on the Prancing Pony Inn, as thin shafts of light slip in between the window slats. The revelers from the last night's festivities gradually draw themselves up out of a hazy fog, nursing their aching heads with mugs of cool water, and plates of potatoes and salted pork. Guests and travelers slowly gather their things and leave their sleeping quarters, as one of the servants begin cleaning rooms. The morning progresses as normal, until it is punctuated by a cry of terror. Everyone looks up as a servant stumbles backwards out of one of the rooms, stammering,
"I- I- He's..."
A crowd quickly gathers around the doorway, jostling to get a look at what lies within the room. On the floor lay a tangle of bedsheets, stained dark and red with blood, and the curtains at the round window seem to have been torn from their hanging, though the window is still clasped shut. A voice in the crowd mentions that this was a Hobbit's room... some farmer who'd just arrived in Bree. There was no sign of a body anywhere, and though clothing has been strewn about the room, it appears as though nothing had been taken. Even a pair of worn leather boots remains tucked under the bed.
Murder... the word is whispered through the Inn, as the local guard arrive. Having searched the town without finding any sign of the Hobbit anywhere, they order everyone to remain indoors, and that anyone who exits will be suspect. The Magistrate has been known to deal very strictly with such crimes, and means to find a suspect from those staying at the Inn to send to the Gallows. After investigating the room one final time, the Captain of the Guard addresses those of you assembled in the Inn.
"If any among you believe you know who is at fault for this travelers murder, cast your vote against him. Should a majority be reached, the gallows await them."
Alright, it's go time. Remember to include me in any PMs you send, and post any votes you cast in red. You can vote to lynch a player, abstain from voting (your vote is removed from the total), or vote not to lynch any player that day. The day will be up as soon as a simple majority is reached, or 48 hours have passed.
P.S. Player death is persistent. Thus, if Frodo dies in this chapter, don't expect to see him in later chapters.
