i would suggest a woodcutter/Carpenter.

And would you mind if i did a short story relating to the mod to describe how horrible it is?(on this thread)

Another nagging question: maybe split fishing and woodcutting? Both are full-time jobs so it looks like a waste of points for me.

Seems to be the way with things on this forum; if an invention doesn't involve death by magma then you know someone's going to go out of their way to make sure it does involve death by magma... then it gets acknowledged as being a great invention.

the low mining has to be placed at another dwarf. Not wood cutting and mining at the same time :O

Well, if I was running this as a solo game with the wooden floating fortress challenge in mind...

1. Stonecrafter (5) / Gem Cutter (0) / Gem Setter (5) / Appraiser (0) / Miner (0). The dwarf responsible for everything related to trade.
2. Fisherdwarf (5) / Marksdwarf (5). Food supplier.
3. Fish Cleaner (2) / Cook (2) / Bone Carver (3) / Bowyer (3). Food chain, crossbow and ammo production.
4. Woodcutter (2) / Carpenter (3) / Axedwarf (5). Self-explanatory.
5. Carpenter (5) / Mechanic (0) / Architect (0) / Mason (0) / Marksdwarf (5). Construction and mechanics.
6. Same.
7. Glassworker (5) / Marksdwarf (5). Initially on secondary roles, then he starts producing raw glass for trade and glass items for the fortress.

Supplies: 1 copper pick, 1 steel axe, some leather, some bauxite, megatons of food, booze and wood.

P. S. As you can see, stories about horrible werewolves did make me quite paranoid. :-)

Four. :-)

Though maybe glassmaker/woodcrafter instead of glassmaker/marksdwarf. This way he can produce wooden bolts from day one which is more useful than bone arrows (more bolts in the stack).

Clever...Never tried marksdwarfves to destroy them.Crosstrain them in hammering later.
