building above ground.
« on: June 06, 2009, 02:17:12 pm »

Exactly how can my dwarves build things above ground? Do I just have to dig out the entire world and leave the parts I want? Could I stack blocks? I'm having trouble finding anything specific about it on the wiki

so (b)uild, (C)onstructions, and then the thing you want. It's like building a piece of furniture but from raw material.

New question! If I were to remove elves [INTELLIGENT] tag in the raws, would it work?

Hey, dwarf fortress doesn't have the most user friendly interface ATM. Constructions were something I discovered by accident myself.

I play adventure mode a ton, but only dabble in fortress mode. I know plenty about adventure, not so much about fortress.
