Unearthing secrets in the Deep [Spoiler]

Can't find enough big nasties to beat up? Need to hold back the Tides of Darkness just to get a kick? Opening a demon pit as an adventurer might be for you!

While making adamatium weapon vaults I noticed an interesting quirk. Using reveal to uncover a Pit prevents you from 'discovering' it, meaning even if you open it, nothing will spawn. Obvious right? The same problem occurs with Magma buildings.

However, if you return to that same fortress as an adventurer, as soon as you reach the boundaries of the Pit, you unleash the foul denizens locked within as well as their captives, and they will not be happy to see you. They all spawn stealthed like normal, and quickly swarm out to infest the rest of the fortress. Because of this you can fight them two ways. Either stand at the entrance and heroically keep them from escaping the pit, or unleashing them, ducking into a side passage, and letting them stream into the fortress for you to fight your way out of.

Note: I don't know if this is already common knowledge, I found it out recently and thought it would make for a better demon slaying experience.

That last one doesn't work, last I heard SoF can fly. Still, defeating an entire wave of other demons by collapsing a gigantic bridge over a bottomless pit at the centre of an artificial chasm....

hmmmmm it would be amusing to fight them off as they swarm around you though!

But this the definately the ultimate challenge for any cocky adventurer

Let's call it the Gandalf challenge. This needs an achievement in the related thread...and Bonus points if you do it on a bridge supported only by wooden supports. (so SoF really CAN collapse the bridge)

Modding new items is incredibly easy.
All I did was copy some stuff from the raws and change the name. And the damage on the staff.

Obviously the magic would be crafted out of stuff in the same way as ammo.
This leads to interesting things like "wooden fireballs."

Though it's more effective (and dwarfy) to say "Quick! Somebody make x!"

Oh im a modder myself, and yes custon weapons are fun, my favourite bit is messing with smelter reactions to create explosive properties, creating an effective minefield for my enemies.
