"So if something doesn't react negatively to pain, is it ok to hit it?"
Only if it asks nicely.  And you're into that kind of thing.

"Teach a computer to love."
And that's how you teach it to feel pain.

"Describe UV light."
It's a very dark purple, causes certain materials to give off light of their own(reflective plastic coatings tend to give off a very dark purple light), gives me a headache if I look at it for too long, causes my skin to feel warm(often uncomfortably so, and I don't mean sunburn.  I mean like a heat lamp.  The UV curing lights used in orthodontics also make the brackets get REALLY HOT!), and is known to have a damaging effect on certain molecules, notably DNA.

"fembots"
One guy actually built himself a robotic girlfriend.  It's basically a chatbot with sex toy extensions added to it.  He says his female friends see him the same way they see gay men.

I think it's rather sad, personally.  One of my favorite parts about a woman is her mind.(also, her hair.)

I totally have a hair fetish too.

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

My existence is more complete knowing this.

"Teach a computer to love."

Zing!

...Now that we're talking about Petey again I'm evidently out of real things to add to the conversation. Sounds like it'll follow the "adventure game" path, and to limit memory buildup he might only remember certain preset specific details from one load to another, like name but not whether or not you play baseball, etc.

Its not a simulation if it is used in a practical situation. For example a flight simulation that pilots a plane is not a flight simulation at all now is it?

Obviously the bot doesnt have "simulated" emotions, artifical and simple mabey. But not simulated.

After all, human emotions are pretty much code. except made of DNA instead of C++.
You've hit the nail on the head.
The level of complexity in the human mind is much greater than the complexity In a C++ program, or compiler.
but how much?

See, we just tack on "Complex" on everything we don't quite understand.

Remember when math used to be complex?

Maybe that's the problem that corrupt's skynet - it tantrums!?

I think this Milo AI is a waste of time. When I play games, I want to do something I can't do in real life. I can talk to other people. Unless they make a dragon and put the AI in it, I'm personally not interested.

That does seem like a reasonable position, but then how do you explain the massive success enjoyed by the Sims games? Apparently doing mundane things that you do every day virtually is great fun.

"...[W]hen I play games..."

Not when other people play, including casual gamers (pff... Those guys makes it hard to find a GREAT game!)

Remember when math used to be complex?
calculus two is still complex man.
Headache inducing for it's entirely new concept.

I was about to say "What, integration in 3 dimensions?"

Then I remembered, no, that's Calculus 3.

Differential Equations screws me up pretty badly, as do Linear Algebra and to a lesser extent, Trigonometry.(If you can hack your way through Calculus and Diff. Eq. you'll realize you know more than you thought about Trig.)

Heh. I meant back when even arithmetic was complex.

How many times can you promise the world and fail to deliver before we figure out your game?
This is quite a clever pun if I do say so myself.

Anyway I believe every word, that way Im sure to not be disapointed.

I can't say I get it, myself.
