I know I've gotten at least two gals completely and utterly addicted to Dwarf Fortress. Don't think they ever joined the forums, though.

Everyone knows that it's impossible to determine a girl's location and velocity simultaneously.

Urg.  I just wanted a nice friendly AI discussion while at work...

Yeah, the winner last year does kind of bite.  I may have been thinking of some other stuff, or maybe my memory sucks :/

I'm trying really, really hard to resist the urge to break down and implement an AI that speaks Loglan.  Simple grammar!  Once something can grasp basic grammatical constructs, it can understand a bit better.  It's still hardcoded, but meh.  Of course then the hard part is making the english-loglan translator.

...CleverBot sounds suspiciously like MegaHAL.  Boy THAT is a fun bot to have.  Someone had one sitting on a MUCK one time, and were trying to teach it to hate all humans; she gave surprisingly lucid responses sometimes.  "Kill all self-aware people!"  "Yes, and you will kill the non-self-aware?"  "Okay, what have you learned to do to humans?" "And then I will drag them to die."  It just takes snippets that occur near each other and response with things it thinks belongs, it has no sense of state though.

Isn't it supposed to be Angular Velocity?

Yeah, yeah, Lojban, but fewer people have heard of that and fewer people would pick up on the Heinlein reference.  It's probably what I'd end up doing.

No, we have the technology to make it feel like a vagina. But not the technology to make it act like a woman.
Wait, why would anyone want a robot that -acts- like a woman?

That just might be good enough to sig.

The ideal fembot would probably be a liquid synthetic creation that is designed to scan your subconscious for your ideal vision of the female form. And act like a dog. That can cook. And do laundry.

Not those tiny yappy dogs. More like the kind you saved as a little puppy and nursed it back to health and it becomes infinitely loyal to you forever.

And you can have more than one.

I'll only support this if women get a male version.

we should probably discuss something else, im fearing that Threetoe will lock this topic.

So, Peter Molyneux, what do we think his new "software toy" will actually be able to do?
