Yeah ever since I did the monster ball quest I havent seen any monster balls as loot nor in the general vendors

A note on stats, my shop keeper has 5 negotiation and X charisma (Will get the exact values for you as loading up) but is it the case that my shopkeepers negotiation will improve over time? Also apart from the public performer what slaves are good to genetically engineer with my shopkeeper to get him more charisma or negotiation?

Running a shop is quite difficult

Negotiation does raise but very slowly. It's better to just buy new pets at Derphy slave master. A rock thrower has better chr/neg than performer. Next better is a rogue warrior, then master thief but he's only available at level 30. The level listings are on the Elona wiki.

Whoah! Yeah I must have been getting ripped off in my shop yeah a rockthrower has waay more negotiation. Will add a question to the list I am making pertaining to what you said, cheers.

I should add that Humanoids (Such as those slaves) do not provide new body parts for whatever your wanting to genetically create.

Noted, Im actually thinking unless this master thief has obscene negotiation skills the shop was a bit of a waste of money, you see I have really high negotitation, however the way I figured it initially was the fact that a shop buys for next to nothing in comparison to what they sell stuff for so I thought a shop would profit but the rock thrower is selling stuff really really cheap which is not so good.

My team: Alien, Asura, 2x Juere Infantry, Rogue Archer, Rock Thrower + Noyel Horse (riding)

Pretty good for a beginning team. Trying to get better teammates and capture creatures like quicklings but I need monster balls / rods of domination  :( "Alien melts enemy."

Is aliens created by your pet friendly? IIRC it's not... so that'd make an alien a bad pet.

Asura is pretty good for its multiple arms. When it can no longer catch up (since it cannot use armor), look for its upgraded version, and put it inside a ranch for multiple-arm genes.

Quicklings are very fast, but also very fragile. If you face a roomful of monsters with breath weapons, they are going to die.

Gold/Silver bells are the best. Easy to dominate, 600+ speed and almost nothing can kill them. I have a shuriken on one and poison bow on the other and they kill every monster easily except some of the super bosses.

But body is the easiest part to obtain for asura... Just give it a horse's gene. I've augmented her a bit too much though since she has -15% speed from extra body parts  8)

Alien is pretty tough (when augmented) and I like it as a pet... Melts most monsters very fast. It's a bad pet for boss fights, yes. But when I get better pets I'll keep it waiting if I want another alien infestation somewhere  ;D

I'll have to keep searching for Domination rods / train casting to catch those gold/silver bells, thanks for the tip!

Hi,

Yeah that sounds like a great suggestion for a team only I can never catch those bells :)

Also where can I get those monster balls?? They havent dropped anywhere since I did the gene engineer quest plus I check palmia, vernis and port kapul general vendors and cannot find them

I went a warrior but reading the wiki it says that warriors will struggle mid game owing to ranged attacks and this sounds about right, so Im wandering what is the best magic classes and any tips on casters?

Slightly offtopic but my in game name is Van-Lenning <------Intentionally spelled it this way but anyway its just nice to know who is playing :) Im on an awful lot at the momment so no doubt you will see me dying alot hehe(My team is 2 rockthrowers, 1 blade, 1 skeleton warrior) NB I have checked the wiki regarding those bells and I am going to try throwing poision at them, also once I verify a succesful method I will add that to my Question answer thing along with another batch of useful tips in the thread. I also intend to add stuff about good team builds but to be frank about it, I still lack experiance in this area but when I get "monster balls" I will try out the suggested teams in conjunction with genetic engineering of non-slave mobs then finally add it all in the form of question, answer. I also just noticed a mention in the prior post to a tip which amounts to using rods of domination to capture bells, thanks for that!

Theres couple of things just came to mind regarding armour stats:

Firstly are minus values good or bad? (In all situations) for example:
shield: [-3,2] <thats DV , PV? then we can have (-2,2) <-------unsure what the brackets are

Another thing that isnt clear, you have say armour, say a breastplate and it will say under examination:

It maintains Luck
It maintains perception

What exactly does this mean? That no matter what debuff hits you your luck and perception wont debuff? I am just reading it the way its written but my assumption is no doubt wrong, would greatly appreciate some feedback on this

It maintains Luck
It maintains perception

Means that they won't be lowered by sickness etc

Not sure about luck though

[A,B] A = DV & B = PV yeah. (X,Y) X = hit bonus & Y = damage bonus

Negative values are always BAD. Positive values are GOOD. The more the better!

They can be found on all general vendors VERY RANDOMLY (i.e they are very rare) and the possible max level of monster balls depends on shop level too.

Investing on those shops should give you better chances to find them for sale.

You will start to find monster balls in higher level dungeons.

Ok :) btw , I figured out what the scrolls of oracle do and wish I hadnt been selling them, basically I used one and it said something about a beggars pendant but it shot past in the chat window, I then saved the game and clicked elona chat.exe but I cant see the message there. How can I recall the scroll of oracle messages?

According to the wiki it says reads from the art.log file in the saves directory but there is nothing in that file, guess I need to be a very very fast reader next time :D

Im level 16 now and thinking of going rogue........that way no taxes, what do you think? Is it worth it, what are the pros cons?
