I seem to be lucky finding lots of teleport scrolls in shops. Another option is reading a short teleport spellbook... it requires very low literacy. Or take the Feat that acts like short teleport.

guys how do I collect the money for my museum? Its just I have put lots of cards in there and its making no money

I also need to know how to take a cursed item of an ally since I need to uncurse it but its not in my inventory but my allys

The museum money is added to your salary. You need to boost its rank up a bit (by adding new types of cards and statues), or you will end up losing money as museum has an upkeep cost.

Are you strong enough to kill Mia the Cat Freak? Go to party quests and kill her again and again! Even though duplicate cards and statues have decreased value, it should still boost your museum rank, and the experience and loot would help too.

Kill some beggars when you're there... you might just be lucky enough to get the artifact: Beggar's Pendent! That's how I got mine...

You'll lose 4 karma per murdered NPC so be careful. Some other weak NPCs to kill for your museum are: the puppy quest girl and dog in vernis, sewer quest janitor in lumiest, scientist and injured soldier (semi hard) in port kapul, gwen the innocent (no karma penalty) and yeek quest knight in yowyn, librarian in palmia and pael in noyel.

Ok yes trading is the way to go but its brutal, that being said within a few hours I was able to buy a named sword of one of those world map traders, 2 registers , and heres the clincher for someone else going this route..........a shelter

It is a bit of a naf way to do it [the shelter I mean] but what I started doing was stocking up on loads! of teleport scolls, not the minor ones but the standard ones, next I bought a shelter, you see I am so certain when the rogues will come that I set up shelter, go into shelter, game saves, get out shelter, remove shelter, next move a bit further , setup shelter, go in shelter, exit shelter, move again, rogue comes, alt F4

^^^ Yep its bad I know but considering the ridiculous amount of rogues I dont see how it can be done at level 12(My level) or below without adopting a method like this, Ive also found that sometimes you can get away with alt f4 so far and sometimes you must do the teleport trick, this way You balance the money spent on scrolls.

Still an awesome game but I feel like I am no where near powerful enough yet and I cant wait until I can hack those rogues up

How do you get better pets than the little girl slaves? Also is near derphy a best place to build the ranch?

Despite the hassle that trading has really really helped me in conjunction with the tp scrolls. (Some of you really think outside the box with this game - I need to get like that hehe)

One other thing, if I place a shelter on the world map will it stay there? Its just when I earn mega bucks I may line my trade routes with them - Also you folks that have stopped playing should play again

Have made some progress again, I have deeds for farm and ranch but am not building them until I have enough monsters capped for the gene engineer quest and I stupidly sold the items however I just bought a 4th monster ball so when I fill that I should be able to hand that quest in, ow and I got a miacle item, its one of the weirdest ones yet its called mass stone, it equips in my shoot slot its like the thing lvls up! Only I dont know how to get ammo for it yet

About rdy to gene engineer, have the required quest completion however I just did part of the yeek cave which is part of some subquest in Yoewn I believe, anyway its graded 5 but when I go in theres this thing that keeps letting of fire and killing me and im level 13, that beig said to you folk ssay farm for a full set of fire resistant armour? (I have a neg mutation which makes me weak to magic, could that be whats making all the differance as I have heaps of postive mutations)

point im getting at above is do you spec whole gearsets and stash them away until certain quests?

Umm, for Gene Engineer you only need to do Ambitious Scientist quest (where you get the gene machine) from Port Kapul and learn the Gene Engineer skill from a trainer in Port Kapul too.

Mass monsters are nasty... I don't know where they came from in Vernis but I lost that city because <Whom dwell in vanity> caused Ragnarok thanks to those splitting bastards  nukes didn't have any effect as far as I can see...

Hi I am om a real decent position now, I have just bought gene engineering + gardening and also have a deed of farm & ranch thanks to the awesome tips on this thread (As well as a borderline addiction to the game )

Just getting drunk with a friend in RL at the momment but will be back on elona later. I just hope when I decide to read the farm and ranch that they pay, I have about 4 seeds for the farm + I plan to genetic engineer so hopefully I make it pay

I got a rocking pair of fireproof boots from a quest but I got ether disease which means I have damn hooves so what are the chances of me getting a cure corruption potion outwith the casino? I heard that getting married can net you one and per chance I have a love potion therefore I am hoping that a love potion will net me marruage fast and get me a cure corruption potion as they have never dropped nor been a vendors for me, any ideas?

Ow one other thing is there any place well town that has god altars as I have a load of named corpses to sacrafice? Also this beggars pendant that eveyone goes on about well is that the beggars that come to the house that have them?

The longer I play elona the more hooked in I become but I dont want to die of ether now!

Searching material spots can sometimes give you casino chips. To get cure corruption potions just play blackjack and alt+f4 if you fail to win 4 games in a row. Do it when you get the "lucky day" dream for even easier time. You can offer rotten corpses to your god but the wiki says that gives you 1 favor per corpse. If you offer non rotted corpse you get 1 favor per each stone the corpse weighs. So if you find a really heavy corpse put it in your cooler box from puppy quest, and let one of your pets carry it so you're not burdened.

Hey moocow. I stopped digging in dungeons as Im not much of a crafter, that being said after your advice I started farming the resources, got a  couple of chips and considering I looted a god of luck statue well I can win the blackjack games easy now

I ended up getting two cure corruption potions so awesome tip , I am hungover and just playing elona but I will put that casino chip tip at the top of the thread

I am away to build my farm, ranch and bring my gene splicer to the ranch and will report my findings on all this stuff, game really doesnt do its self justice in the initial instance because now I am highly enjoying it and I did so since I started dungeon crawling from dungeons other than the puppy cave since I am getting named cards for my museum + I have killed 2 of those rogue bosses now, only issue is Im level 12 and my fame has shot up to 300, I hope it doesnt scale up for a bit as just getting a handle on things

I am actually wandering what the eggs in my ranch are for? Is it the case after so long they hatch? The thing is I just built a ranch to make money but its quite a slow process and for a level 10 mob the slave trader was offering me just over 1k, I hope I can get better profits

Umm... potentially stupid question here, but: When it asks you "Which direction?", you ARE hitting 5, right?  To target yourself?  It's asking which direction to zap the rod, not which direction to teleport. (You just teleport randomly like the scrolls.)

As for a few of your other questions:  The eggs never hatch, they're just a food item like the milk.  For your resistance problem, it may be tough for you but I would try to capture a fire hound for your ranch.  Eating their meat should give you intrinsic fire resistance, which will probably help more than a second set of gear.  I've heard of people speccing gear for various things, especially gear that helps them perform music better, but I don't have the patience for that.  Good luck!

Hey firefly, i am playing elona too..  Claymore level 12, was getting on the same point as you [got a museum, was going to buy a ranch/farm etc]... but then my ether disease developed to the 5th level, and giving me a total of -30 (or more) on SPEED.... Even lvl 5 monsters can kill me, since my SPD sucks so bad, that they take 10 or more turns ahead of me...

Being a claymore with low spd = death (due to light protection value)

But good look there, I'm looking for games with building etc [DF similars] to test 'em out

Also Gabeux , yeah seems you are about the same stage as me , yeah Im at the point where I am doing alot of stuff now and jumping about and also getting etherwind hassles Get to the casino, since someone advised me to dig up those mat resources I always make sure I have 3 chips on hand and I was lucky to loot a statue of the god of luck so I go use the statue solely to get casino wins as it boosts my luck

In regards to the ranch well that has been useful just for making a few K here and there but the farm, well my gardening skill has a long way to go and my plants just die die hehe

I think its because I wanted to do gene engineering as well, I in essence spread myself to thin so I am neglecting the farm fo the time being as it gives no profit and I am focussing on the museum ranch and shop(Just bought a shop and genetically modified a party member with a public performer so that he has better negotiation, his charisma is good but I am unsure whether it will be good enough, have to wait and see as I have used a heap of money getting this shop so took a risk)

I make alot from dungeon crawling + have high as hell charisma so I hope my shop is not selling at a loss, fingers crossed

Ahh ok just see you ether developed quite a bit, since I stay stocked on chips I deal with it asap, I actually paid over the odds for a rocking ether sword but if I get ether I am in trouble since the sword accelerates it

Actually you know how people have luck with differant loots, well I think all those death messages that come up are differant players, in game? Well it would be nice to have a feature where you collected cerain rare items which meant you could trade a single item with a player who also has one of these matching rare items

Pretty good for a beginning team. Trying to get better teammates and capture creatures like quicklings but I need monster balls / rods of domination  "Alien melts enemy."

Yeah ever since I did the monster ball quest I havent seen any monster balls as loot nor in the general vendors

A note on stats, my shop keeper has 5 negotiation and X charisma (Will get the exact values for you as loading up) but is it the case that my shopkeepers negotiation will improve over time? Also apart from the public performer what slaves are good to genetically engineer with my shopkeeper to get him more charisma or negotiation?

Running a shop is quite difficult

Im also curious about those flying scrolls, I always sold them as they dont seem on the face of it to have any permenant effect, what do those do exactly? It may seem dumb as I guess they make you fly? I just cant see how thats going to help but just curious

Actually, the flying scrolls permanently lower the weight of an object.  This will lower a weapon or armor's stats a bit, but has no adverse effect if you use them on anything else.  To be honest, I usually sell them... There isn't much use for them unless you're a fairy, when that 1s equip weight limit starts becoming obnoxious.  If you do plan to use them, I'd use one on a shelter you're carrying, or perhaps a heavy instrument.
