IGA stands for 'In Game Art'. It's an idea (Probably a bad one) where there is a type of art anyone can capture quite easily and share with less than a dozen keystrokes. All it requires is a game and a image editing device (IE, Paint) and you're good to go.

And see if you can name the three games they are from.

Eh?

All these games are WAR games, which means there are alot of pictures of WAR. Feel free to take some pic's involving Japanese schoolgirls, or some shit.

I am usually very broad in what I allow to be called art, but this is not art.
Or more precisely, YOU haven't done any art, you're just ripping of what the programmers and artists who made the game have done.

I have a feeling this is going to turn into a 'post your favorite screenshots here' topic rather than an art topic...

I don't really see much art value in these pictures to be honest.

I pretty much agree with both of these points.

However, I feel that the idea is sound. These might not be art, but some screenshots are.

2 seconds on Google has given me new insight into Halo 3 screenshots. http://halo3screenshots.com/

I don't know what manner of hacking or trickery (Photoshop? Gimp?) was used to make those, but damn.

I know some of the maps in Halo 3 you can drop filters which change how everything looks. Combine that with an explosion and it will give you some of the effects. And yes most likely some photoshopping.

Depends really, just nabbing random screenshots wouldn't be called art, but if one takes a screenshot and makes it a basis for future editing and then enhances it then some great art could be made. Of course you won't be able to sell prints of it.

I have not thought of this before... and come to think of it, I suppose I can't call it art. The developers are the ones that put together the whole presentation and I'm just capturing it in certain moments.

I'll turn this into a 'Post your favorite screenshots' thread, but hey, no need to throw smiley's around here:  :( ;) :) :D >:( :-* :-\

All from Team Fortress 2. The flaming sniper shots were saved mainly because his glasses are outside of the flames. It just looked nice to me.
