I feel the need to revive this topic, mainly because it was a very good read and there's always more to add. I'll make the necro-post a very stylish, lengthy post. For your reading pleasure I have taken on the duty of turning this 14 year long war into a war story.
Once, in a world called the Legendary Planets, a fierce war between The Frilly Society, a human civ, and The Abyssal Seasons, an elf civ was fought. The war began in the year 35, over a dispute over the treatment of animals, and ended in 49 with a peace treaty.
The starting battle of the war, 'The Battle of Searing', was waged in 35, in the Jungles of Foot, near the elven homeland. Leading the attackers was the elf Nelo Beachcoasts with 58 warriors in tow. Rallying the human defenders was Thel Blanketpoker, leading a mere 28 defenders. At the beginning of the battle, the superior equipped humans slayed six elves without effort, but soon the elven archers caught up and killed several humans. In the end, the elves won. The band of 59 elves lost only 10 warriors, while the 28 humans lost 18. The elves ate the dead humans in a celebratory feast.
The elves, empowered by their victory, led an attack on the human town of Braveclasped the following year, christened The Splattered Assaults. Again Nelo Beachcoasts led the attack with 53 other warriors. The 12 humans were led by the well renowned warrior Xidel Gulfdwell the Satiny Brute of Meals. In the early stage of the battle, elves and humans died one by one. However, the warriors of Bravedclasp were strong enough to earn titles for themselves, and began cleaving elves asunder, many arms and legs flying. Finally, one lone human warrior named Mimap Archhabits faced down the elven leader Nelo alone. Sadly, while Mimap was bravely dueling Nelo, he was shot by an ambushing elven archer. However, the elves had sustained too many losses, and retreated. The final count was the humans lost five men and the elves lost 19.
The next battle, in the year of 37, was fairly unremarkable, with Nelo again leading the attack on Bravedclasp. The human warriors, now only 10 in number, suffered 5 more losses before the end of the battle via elven retreat. In the next year of 38 the elves were ready to finish the humans once and for all. With fresh commanders, Oda Stroketalons for the elves and Ecen Planetired for the humans, the fourth battle began in the region between the two civilizations, know as the Hills of Attack. In a truly remarkable battle, the five human warriors routed the 68 elves with nary a scratch on their armor. The elves left the battle missing 32 out of 68 original warriors, however the leader survived.
Next year, the elves again staged an attack on the five humans led by Ecen. This battle was only known as The Fierce Battle. The elves, with their new commander Ula Gorgethorn, met the humans east of The Hills of Attack, in the False Desert. At once, all 70 elves charged, only to be cut down in a flurry of crossbow bolts and swords. In the midst of battle, the elite human Crossbowman Onaf Beardedsmudge, slayer of many elves, dueled with the elven commander. However, the elven commander could not lay a hit in, and eventually the elves had to retreat, with their leader limping away with a bolt in her leg.
In the following years between 40 and 42, Ula led several raids against Braveclasped itself. Finally, in 42, the elves new commander, Famime Beardedscent, led a large squad to The False Desert to fight the five legendary human warriors. Again, the elves were routed with no losses on the human side.
The next few years were very quiet. The elves plotted and planned a large raid, however Ecen and his other elite four men refreshed their ranks. By the year 46, the humans now numbered 20, including the original five warriors. Again, Famime led the assault with Ecen defending the town. Admist the battle, the elven commander dueled with one of the recruits, Kado Strayboards. Despite his inexperience he held his own against the elves and forced the leader to fall back. Yet again, the humans suffered zero losses.
Finally, two years later, the humans confronted the elven army of 55 in their homeland, the Enjoyable Dune. This site was the final battle of the war. When the battle begun, one human recruit named Mata Beardeddecent confronted the veteran elvish commander alone. The duel raged on the entire battle, as human recruits and elven warriors fell in mortal combat. But finally, a blow got through. Famime's sword arm came off at the shoulder. Then her shield arm at the elbow. And finally, her head was lopped off. The elves, already suffering 18 losses, decided to retreat. The humans lost only six men, all recruits.
Over the course of the next year, the elves realized that if this continued, the humans would push directly into the heart of their forests and take over their towns in retaliation. Finally, in 49, a diplomatic meeting was held between Ecen and the elven council of druids. Together, they all agreed for peace, ending the decade-and-a-half long war.
And in the so-far 200 year history of the Legendary Planets, the Frilly Society actually fought several wars. But that's another story for another time.
EDIT: Searching Ecen's profile, it seems he was a shopkeeper before he became leader of the Frilly Society. Even when he was a shopkeeper he gored and killed several elves. His history is full of him ripping various body parts off of elves. However, it seems in 68, long after the 14 Year War, Ecen was killed in a different war with different elves, and got shot and killed
