A human lives in a swamp and spends the better part of his life hunting and killing alligators, despite a series of rather unfortunate events. Red dots indicate when things went wrong, yellow when he got his revenge.

Was he killed by some random non-alligator creature?

Nope. He's still alive, fighting gators til this day. When I grow tired of my latest fort I'm going to find that guy in adventure mode and shake his remaining hand!

I'm pretty sure there are wobbegongs in the game, making excluding stingrays a weird point.

Here they are.

I just checked my latest fort's population data, and there are, in fact, stingrays. I don't remember encountering them myself, but I think I've seen their meat for trade before.

Crushedfrayed.  That's an encouraging name.  From the looks of things, he crushed and frayed Julosm's arm and lower body fairly well.  :-\

I'm talking about the bronze colossus. It's supposed to be made entirely of bronze.
But really he's just a softie inside. They all are really. When megabeasts come to your fort you never welcome them inside and give them a hug, do you. You heartless bastards...

I feel the need to revive this topic, mainly because it was a very good read and there's always more to add. I'll make the necro-post a very stylish, lengthy post. For your reading pleasure I have taken on the duty of turning this 14 year long war into a war story.

Spoiler: The 14 year war (click to show/hide)

And in the so-far 200 year history of the Legendary Planets, the Frilly Society actually fought several wars. But that's another story for another time.

EDIT: Searching Ecen's profile, it seems he was a shopkeeper before he became leader of the Frilly Society. Even when he was a shopkeeper he gored and killed several elves. His history is full of him ripping various body parts off of elves. However, it seems in 68, long after the 14 Year War, Ecen was killed in a different war with different elves, and got shot and killed :(

My latest world has an elven-dwarven war. My modded kobolds (they're much nicer now) have no trade with me.

The dwarves are being outnumbered 5-1 or even 14-1, and winning. They are losing on occassion, but still. Wow.

That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.
It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.
