Okay, so I'm currently making a human fort, and I want to build a bunch of temples for them. This means that I will need some gods. Anyway, instead of making temples for the existing gods, everyone makes their own god/demigod/saint/etc, complete with a name, patron of [profession], and some preferences. I will do my best to build a temple (not huge, no bigger than... 9x9, 10x10, somewhere around there with no more than 3 z-levels and a roof) to your specifications. If no preferred building material is available, I will put the temple on hold until something suitable arrives.
Try to make your description as much like the description screen in legends/unit menu, but add some things like preferences.

The Gods:
Zas the Free Lord is often depicted as a male skeletal human and associated with death, festivals, sky, and music. His preferred colours are sky blue and white. He likes stringed instruments, microcline, and skull totems. He does not demand sacrifices. He is the patron god of bone and wood carvers.
-He has a temple. Temple plans: somewhat octagonal area with a microcline statue in the middle with white stone floors. A roof made of white stone is supported by microcline supports.
Kolok the Friendly Anger is often depicted as a skeletal whale and associated with fire, undeath, oceans, and Rubidium. His preferred colours are yellow and orange. He likes Scepters, Rubies, and Engravings. He demands sacrifices. He is the patron of philosophers.
-He does not yet have a temple. Temple plans: slightly whale-shaped temple made of white and yellow stone.
Ousire the Many Gears is often depicted as a grinning male dwarf and is associated with gears, mechanics, engineers, and awesome machines. His preferred colors are golden yellow and bronze. He likes machines, windmills, waterwheels, and screw pumps. He demands sacrifices. He is the patron saint of mechanics.
-He does not yet have a temple. Temple plans:
make the temple out of bronze, cover the roof with as many windmills as possible, and if possible, divert a river some for waterwheels. the doors should all be retractable floodgates opened by levers. if possible, make axels and stuff running all up and down the walls, and have them under the floor. make the floor glass so people can see them spin.
oh, and there needs to be a pit of doom, covered with grates/floodgates/whatever. station people on it, and pull a lever to sink em in for sacrifices!
Yeah, too awesome (and confusing) to rewrite. I expect this temple to take forever to complete.
Hexed the Angry Blueness is often depicted as a male human and is associated with water, war, fishing and spears. His preferred colours are Blue and Green. He is the patron god of fishers and spearmen. He demands sacrifices of raw fish.
-He does not yet have a temple. Temple plans: made of microcline with a pool of fish in the middle.
Kat is often depicted as a grey cat and associated with animals, life (especially cats), pregnancy, and fire (Nuclear catsplosions). Its preferred colors are red and grey, and it prefers cats for their aloofness and bauxite for being red. It is the patron god of animal caretakers and cats (obviously). It demands sacrifices of vermin.
-It has no need of a temple, however, if a cat dies, one citizen must be sacrificed.
Lanternobey The Metal Hound of the Gods is often depicted as a massive dwarven war dog, it's body made of all forms of metal, and is associated with loyalty, protection, the community, dogs, and war. Prefers any metal, but prefers the martial material be put to better use. Demands sacrifice, but any death in protection of the community is acceptable.
-He does not yet have a temple. Temple plans: small metal d's and/or kennels anywhere Lanternobey's blessing is required. Every war dog that dies must be accompanied by someone.
Lord Brick is often depicted as a male dwarven mechanin. His preferred colors are green, red, yellow, and blue. He is the patron hero of LEGO, deity of architects (and mechanics?), who is often depicted as a pile of blocks and is commonly associated with blocks, buildings, and mechanisms.
-He does not yet have a temple. Temple plans: 1st floor=red, 2nd=blue, 3rd=yellow, roof=green. Matching coloured gear assemblies on each floor.
Labs the Angry Waves is often depicted as a male carp and associated with rivers, oceans, and fishing. Labs demands live creatures to serve as slaves from the deep.
-He does not yet have a temple. Temple plans: mini-moat and drawbridge. Fish in the moat. Constructed only from stone that has touched water.
Damok the Darkness of Emptiness takes the form of a male human silhouette. Damok is often associated with darkness, the night, and the void. Damok requires no sacrfices.
-He does not yet have a temple. Temple plans: a temple around a deep pit, made to look as if it was sealed and broken into by mining.

Edit: June 2
Awesome, I got a god before I even have the fort area set up.
Also, new addition, pick some sort of profession that you are the patron god (or saint) of. This also means that you can have a saint/minor god/demigod/hero/etc. if you wish.
