I said that I may be missing something for two reasons: first, because I never managed to find a way to "extract" an email address from people's profiles. It's hidden when I check somebody's profile, with the only option being sending a mail via the in-forum client(which opens when you click on the envelope icon). And hides the address just as well, and doesn't allow sending attachements. Second, your response suggests that it's actually a common knowledge how to do it, so there you go: I think I might be missing something.
