As long as they don't try to 3D it. MI3 (COMI) had the best graphical style of them all so I hope they stick with that.

I will buy this anyway though.

The new games are 3D but I think they're point and click given who's making it.  The remake has hand drawn art based on the original with added voice acting.  I don't know who's playing any other characters, but Dominic however you spell his last name is reprising his role as Guybrush.

Woo hoo!

The new Guybrush looks kinda meh, but at least he's got a beard.
In the Curse of Monkey Island, he looked like an adolescent moron.

I really dislike the art dirrection in the remake of Monkey Island (He had a Beard in Monkey Island 2) sure it is 3d but everything looks so dull and lifeless.

I agree with others when they say the 2d pixilated version had a lot more charm. They tried too hard to immitate when they should have gone the extra mile to make the game actually look nice.

In otherwords. Yes the 3d version is a perfect representation of what the 2d would look like if it was 3d but in a cold robotic way. They should have instead tried to capture the soul of Monkey Island even if it wouldn't have looked the same. (Also the Narrator shouldn't have a voice)

Best evidence of this: Watch the swordmenship training video and watch the 3d machine's choppy animation. Honestly it demonstrates what I mean better then anything.

Read my last post.  The remake is not 3d.  It's still 2d, just with hand drawn graphics and a modernized UI.  You can actually push a button to make it switch back and forth between original and new style.

I refuse to be excited. This is my favourite game series, after all. All I can say is it is very hard not to be. But I still refuse to be excited.


Art style's a little weird, but I'm cool with that. As long as it is great as the other 4..then I will be happy.
