[40d1x] Can't build with alumite
« on: May 31, 2009, 11:24:30 pm »

I think I'm using d11, but it may be d10.  Anyway, I'm completely unable to use alumite.  I've tried replacing all the raws, making a new fort, etc.  I can't build with alumite.  I can use other stones (obsidian and rhyolite, anyway) but not alumite.

Are you using a mod that lets you mark stones as economic? Hit the 'z' status screen, then go to stones and see if Alunite is toggled.

Alternatively, have you mass-forbidden all your alunite (perhaps for manipulating an artifact)? Check a random piece of alunite and see if its name is surrounded by curly braces, e.g. {alunite}.

Hmm.  No, it's vanilla DF.  But yes, it was listed as economic stone.  Then again...  every stone but obsidian was listed as economic, and I know I built with rhyolite....

Anyway, it works now.  Thanks.

No, it's vanilla DF.

Are you absolutely positive?  Because the rather popular Mayday graphics pack includes a mod that does exactly this.
