You charge at the enemy! Slashing with your axe you destroy a host with one swing, but they dissipate into mist. Red mist. Dozens of arrows thud into you, forcing you down. You slash upwards and take out a dozen, the mist thickens. You walk forward and slash more and more. Eventually all are gone but the mist that surrounds you. The colossus appears behind you.

"Truly you are the chosen."

He nudges you in a direction, you know not where you are going but eventually you come out of the mist into a great hall, made from the same, red material. The hall is large and open. All around humans, elves, dwarves and goblins stand next to each other like brothers. Clad in that same, red material they make no move to the arms at their side. Several titans and colossus stand on the route between the crowd going to a ramp, which leads to a platform. You then realise something.

All the elves, the humans, the dwarves, are red. The colossus, the titans, the goblins, are red. As red as the metal they wear.

You proceed cautiously to the ramp, seeing out of the corner of your eye some of the red people moving about. Before you go up the ramp the gatekeeper says. "I await you here."

You proceed up the to the platform, the platform is surrounded by mist and the people below cannot be seen. After a path there is an adamantine throne. On the throne is a black mass in the basic shape of a humanoid.

You here a voice beckon you, "Come closer, child."

Not menacingly. This thing is obviously more powerful than us. Approach it as badass as possible, however, without being menacing.
