The vulture strikes first, but it doesnt penetrate your pig tail robes!
You grab it at the neck, and begin swinging it around.

Keep it up till the neck breaks.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

You finally break the neck.

the other vulture is unconscious from pain(might want to tame this one).

Edit:Now Kashykk must post his actual action for the week

A random suggestion for the moat; why not just channel one Z-level down and leave a single square to be made into a ramp? Then channel the next layer down, leaving pathways, then channel out the pathways. You could also just settle for one Z-level, you would have a wall right after the 7 feet deep ditch.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

I pick up both vultures, and haul them home. The dead can be butchered, by me if no one else and the unconscious one shall go in a cage.

Let's go ahead and go with nirur's suggestion. If anybody else would like to put up some fortress plans, I think we would all like to see them.  ;D

Um... No. I'll eat, drink, and then build a crafts dwarf shop just under the mechanics shop. If I have any time remaining, I'll go ahead and start turning some of our bones into armor. The type doesn't really matter to me.

1. Because I can. (Also, forgot there was another one.)
2. I thought I remembered something about coyote bones...

Bah, gotta go to work.

I lay claim to enough bones to make myself 15 bolts.
