It moves limply towards the dog...
But then passes out from pain. It bleeds more.
The dog bites, ripping the body up.
You shoot...

You hit the tail stinger, and it goes limp.

I sent my mule away.

How is it not dead? I pierced its heart and it is unconscious, bleeding out. Alright, I'll get closer and shoot it in the head until it dies.

Slightly related:
1- How long does it take for a dead body to rot?
2- I like the pictures, they're a nice touch. I think that you could probably skip them for the rest of this battle though, it's just a dying scorpion getting shot at point blank range with a dog trying to eat it.

Meh.
1-A while. In life, decomposing takes a while.
2-Yes.

You walk up, unable to miss. You shoot it in the head. The bolt only goes a little bit through, but it dies of bleeding out. You pick up the bolts that are usable(one broke when going through the scorpion).

Okay, now I spend the next week dragging the corpse back to the camp. If there's any time left when I get there, I'll move both the fox and scorpion corpse underground.

What workshops are needed to fully utilize the corpses? Is it:
Butcher's workshop for meat, bones, fat, carapace, and venom sac
Alchemist's shop for venom sac + container > useable venom
Tanner's shop for carapace > prepared carapace
Leatherworker's shop for prepared carapace > armor

Strength-Good for combat/hauling/other things
Agile-You become faster, adding to your ability to dodge
Tough-Helps with recovering, and defense

Ah, should have guessed. Will high levels of agility allow more actions per week? Being the most likely to get hurt, I think I'll become tough.

Is there still a pick left?  If so, I'll take up a pick and start digging out a farm.

There are no more picks.

EDIT:Mainiac, please restate your action.
