I don' think we do acctually. I'll get onto that.

Also, heres a conversation I had with a clan about a cheaper TF2 server. Basically, paying Admins this is mostly for your attention.

Basically what I can tell you from this, is that its like our current server only slightly cheaper (with the possibility of having a L4D server in there aswell). Same support and that. Only downside is that we won't be independant anymore (big issue with admins it seems) and we'll have to have the UFF tag on our server name.

Great games yesterday everyone! Got some great medic-runs with a number of people. Nice game on Saturday too with the amazing dual stab on a Medic+Heavy by me an Nilocy.


Now on the matter at hand:
How much cheaper is it?

Having the server through another clan should bring some more people on the server and having the |UFF in the end of our server's name isn't that big a deal. Having it in player names would be, as for one I have no idea what |UFF is about. (Except that it is a second-hand clothes store in Finland) Also, we wouldn't really have an use for another forum would we? This one works fine.

But all in all, I don't think taking the offer would hurt, though the nifty stat site would be gone, right?

I'm not a big fan of being affiliated with a larger group.  This forum is the only forum I ever actively contributed to, so it's safe to say I keep to myself online a bit. 

The UFF thing doesn't bother me too much if only the server would need it. I could also stand having to add it to my name while playing L4D and TF2.  Long as I don't get bugged to have it on my steam name or add it during non-UFF games. Really long groups of stacked tags always looked gaudy to me.

On the good end it has the benefits of cheaper server with possible expansion to L4D 1 & 2.

Yea a requirement of treamspeak or ventrilo would be a no from me as well.  I really hate having to load up teamspeak every time I enter a game so I show up on the logged in list and then the other folks that decided to require the teamspeak just use it to bitch about their daily lives to a captive audience.  And then they start requiring everybody to contribute to the (very one sided)conversation when they are on. Why not just use it to play the game? Which by the way, the ingame system does a fine job of already.

Yes I am a very avid anti-teamspeak/ventrilo person.  I had a very short stint on a UT2004 clan that did all that crap.  Teamspeak and ventrilo fill me with rage.

Of course they didn't mention requiring either. (did they?)
