Even though I haven't been on steam much lately...

I would like to throw in Eternal Silence, although chances are that is either going to be loved by everybody or hated completely.  Probably depends on how many have joysticks, how many can deal with the learning curve, and how many can deal with the learning curve while the local godlike players blow them away effortlessly.

I would suggest Allegiance, but it would suffer from similar problems as Eternal Sonata.
